To create inventory on a non-license plate tracked location

In case a location does not require license plate tracking, but the item is license plate tracked, the system still requires a license plate number to be filled when creating inventory for the item. A location does not require license plate tracking in case the Require License Plate Tracking toggle on the Location Card page has been disabled (see License Plate Tracking per Location). For such locations, a general license plate number will be automatically selected and used in transactions. The license plate number will be automatically filled with the value assigned in the LP No. Non-License Plating tracked location field (see License Plating Setup). It specifies the default license plate number given to all license plates that are located at locations that have the Require License Plate Tracking toggle turned off, for example external locations in which there is no insights into how items are stored.

It is not allowed to use another license plate number than the LP No. Non-License Plating tracked location for transactions with a license plate tracked item and a location that doesn’t require license plate tracking.

It is not allowed to use the LP No. Non-License Plating tracked location as the license plate number for transactions when both the item as the location requires license plate tracking.
