License plate information

The License Plates Information is provided by the License Plates list and License Plate card. A license plate card will automatically be created when receiving or producing new inventory for a license plate tracked item and location.

License plate list

The License Plates list provides a bird’s eye view of the existing non-empty license plates.

  1. Select the Search icon , enter License Plates, and then choose the related link.
    The License Plates page opens. The Empty checkbox is automatically selected when the license plate is empty and does not hold any inventory.
  2. Select the Show filter pane icon or choose Filter option from the dropdown menu near the fields to edit the filter list.

You can view the FactBox on the right side of the screen by selecting the relevant license plate records. It displays the following information about the license plate records.

Main item No.Specifies the item record number in the first line of the Item Ledger Entries for the specific license plate.
Main Lot No.Specifies the lot record number in the first line of the Item Ledger Entries for the specific license plate.
Main Item Quantity (Base)Specifies the quantity of the main item in the base unit of measure.
Main Item UOM (Base)Specifies the base unit to measure the main item.
Main Item QuantitySpecifies the quantity of the main item.
Main Item UOMSpecifies the unit to measure the main item.
Location CodeSpecifies the location code of the license plate.
Bin CodeSpecifies the bin code of the license plate.
No. of Unique ItemsSpecifies the number of unique items in the Item Ledger Entries for the specific license plate.

License plate card

The license plate card contains detailed information about the license plate, the item ledger entries, and additional information such as quantity, location, blocked status, and additional comments on a single form. The license plate card will automatically be created when an inbound transaction has been performed. For more information, see Inbound transactions.

  1. Select the preferred No. on the License Plates list page.
    The License Plate Card page opens.
  2. On the General FastTab, turn on the Blocked toggle to block the license plate from being used in transactions. On the Lines FastTab, Item No., Item Description, Variant Code, Quantity, Unit of Measure Code, Expiration Date, Lot No., and Serial No. fields of the item on the license plate is specified.

If the Aptean Advanced Attributes extension is installed, you can view the MWR field along with the global lot attributes value configured on the advanced attributes setup page.To know more, see here.

Note

You can view the Weight Quantity (KG) field when a catch weight item is used on integration of the Aptean Catch Weight extension with the Aptean License Plating extension.

  1. In the Lot No. field, click the lot number.
    The associated Lot No. Information Card page opens.

    Note

    If the item record has multiple lots assigned to it, you can choose the lot number that you want to view from the list of lot records.

  2. On the action bar of the License Plate Card page, select Move License Plate to directly move the license plate (or part of the items on the license plate) from one location/bin to another. This functionality will be explained in To change location/bin of a license plate.

    Note

    While using the Aptean License Plating extension in conjunction with the Aptean Catch Weight extension, Item Weight Ledger entries are created along with Item Ledger Entries for catch weight items during the partial movement of license plates. To know more, see here.

  3. On the action bar, select Print Label(s) to print the label(s) for the license plate(s). The printed label depends on the selected option in the Label Printing Method field from the License Plating Setup page.

  4. On the action bar, select Related > Entries

    • Select Item Ledger Entries to view the item ledger entries of the license plate.
    • Select Warehouse Entries to view the warehouse entries of the license plate.
    • Select License Plate Overview to see the overview of the license plate.
  5. On the action bar, select Related > License Plate > Item Tracing to trace where a license plate number assigned to the item(s) was used, for example, to find which package a defective component came from or to find all the customers that have received items containing the defective component.

  6. When personalizing the License Plate Card page, the FactBox can be made visible on the page. This area is used to display content including Links and Notes.

    • Links allow you to add links to a URL or path on the record shown in the page. When you choose a link, the target file opens.
    • Notes allow you to write a note on the record shown on the page.

If the license plate is currently empty instead of holding inventory, it is possible to delete the card.
