Set up advanced production consumption posting

You can configure advanced production consumption posting in the system by enabling consumption journal posting, setting up direct posting, and defining rules for consuming items that are or are not listed in production order components.

To allow posting for advanced production consumption on closing the item list by selecting COMPLETE button in the Aptean WMS app, follow these steps:

  1. Open the WMS Configuration page.
  2. On the On completion, post FastTab, turn on the Consumption Journal toggle.

To enable direct posting of production consumption, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Module Settings page.
  2. On the Handlers FastTab, in the Posting Handler field, select Post Production Consumption.

Configure consumption rules

You can configure consumption rules to control whether items outside the production order component list can be consumed. Depending on your requirements, you can allow unrestricted consumption, restrict it to listed components, or require confirmation before consuming unlisted items.

Consume items not in production order components

To allow consumption of any item, including those not in the production order component list, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Module Validation page.
  2. Select the required line for the Item exists on document validator associated with the Adv. Prod. Consumption module type.
  3. Clear the Active checkbox for the Item exists on document validator.

Allow only items in the component list to be consumed

To restrict consumption to only items that exist in the production order component list, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Module Validation page.
  2. Select the required line for the Item exists on document validator for the Adv. Prod. Consumption module type.
  3. Select the Active checkbox for the Item exists on document validator.
  4. Open the WMS Configuration page.
  5. On the Journal Setup FastTab, turn off the Confirm Consumption not Included Item toggle.

Allow items outside the component list to be consumed after confirmation

To allow consumption of items outside the component list, but only after confirmation, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Module Validation page.
  2. Select the required line for the Item exists on document validator for the Adv. Prod. Consumption module type.
  3. Select the Active checkbox for the Item exists on document validator.
  4. Open the WMS Configuration page.
  5. On the Journal Setup FastTab, turn on the Confirm Consumption not Included Item toggle.

Configure display options on the scanner

The Adv. Cons. Display Format field on the Journal Setup FastTab of the WMS Configuration page controls how consumed items appear on the scanner. The selected option must be configured before starting the scanning process. The available options are:

  • Show overconsumed with qty. 0:

    • Displays all items from the original component list.
    • Fully consumed or overconsumed items appear with a quantity of 0.
  • Don't show fully consumed items:

    • Displays all items from the original component list.
    • Fully consumed or overconsumed items are hidden from the list.
  • Show overconsumed with a negative qty.:

    • Displays all items from the original component list.
    • Fully consumed or overconsumed items appear with the correct negative quantity.
  • Show additional and overconsumed with a negative qty.:

    • Displays all items from the original component list and additional consumed items that are not in the original list.
    • Fully consumed or overconsumed items appear with the correct negative quantity.

Ensure these configurations are completed before starting the production consumption process to maintain accurate inventory tracking and smooth operations.
