Set up SharePoint connection using assisted setup
The Work Instruction Worksheet Assisted Setup wizard provides a guided, user-friendly method to configure the SharePoint connection for shop floor production using Graph API. It allows you to enter connection credentials, select a SharePoint site and document drive, and then confirms successful integration.
The Utilize Graph API for SharePoint connection toggle on the Shop Floor Production Setup page is turned on.
To set up SharePoint connection, follow these steps:
- Open the Assisted Setup page and then select the Set up Shop Floor Production Setup title.
The Work Instruction Worksheet Assisted Setup wizard opens.
Alternatively, you can access the Work Instruction Worksheet Assisted Setup wizard by selecting Related > Work Instruction Connection Setup on the action bar of the Shop Floor Production Setup page. - Select Next.
- On the Connector Integration section, in the SharePoint Application Client ID field, enter the client ID used to authenticate the connection between shop floor production and SharePoint.
- In the Client Secret field, enter the secure credentials to authenticate and authorize access to Azure resources.
- Turn on the Allow HTP Client Requests toggle to allow the extension to communicate with SharePoint using the HTTP Client data type, especially when connecting to SharePoint via Graph API.
The wizard retrieves a list of SharePoint sites associated with your tenant. - In the SharePoint Site Selection section, select the desired SharePoint site from the list.
- Select Next to continue.
The wizard queries the selected site for available document libraries (drives). - In the SharePoint Drive Selection section, select the required drive.

A completion message appears. - Select Finish to save your selection.
You can view the related work instruction files on the Work Instruction Worksheet page.
File names displayed in red indicates that the previously uploaded files that are no longer accessible through the SharePoint connection. This typically occurs when files are deleted directly from SharePoint instead of using the work instruction worksheet. When the connection is set up correctly, switching to the Graph API connection does not cause any file names to appear in red. This visual distinction helps you easily identify which files are linked through the established SharePoint integration and which are not.
Based on this setup, the Client ID, Client Secret, Site URL, and Document Library Name field values are automatically updated on the Shop Floor Production Setup page.
- If the wizard is rerun, all previously stored values are cleared, and you must complete the assisted setup again.
- If the connection to SharePoint fails at any step, the system displays an error message, prompting you to verify your credentials.
