Configure auto-refresh settings

You can configure the Auto Refresh Interval and Auto Refresh Idle Timeout field values to control how often the system must refresh data, and when it should pause due to inactivity. It provides an automatic data refresh feature to ensure you always see up-to-date information.

This feature is accessible only when the Enable SFP in BC toggle on the Shop Floor Production Setup page is turned on.

Configure auto-refresh interval

To specify how often the Shop Floor Production page or its associated pages update data automatically, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Shop Floor Production Setup page.
  2. On the General FastTab, in the Auto Refresh Interval field, enter a value greater than 15 (in seconds) to enable automatic refresh. By default, the value is set to 0, meaning data will not refresh automatically.

Data updates at the specified interval, ensuring visibility of new production orders and changes.

  • If you enter 0 or a value less than 15, the system displays an error message.
  • Even when auto-refresh is disabled, you can manually refresh data using the Refresh icon.

Configure auto-refresh idle timeout

To define how long the system should wait before pausing automatic refresh due to inactivity, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Shop Floor Production Setup page.
  2. In the Auto Refresh Idle Timeout field, enter a value between 5 and 30 (in minutes).

Auto-refresh stops after the specified idle time. To resume automatic refresh, interact with the Shop Floor Production page or its associated pages, or manually refresh the data.

Manual refresh

You can use the Refresh icon that allows you to manually update data on any page. This ensures that the most recent information is retrieved from Business Central without waiting for an automatic refresh.

The Refresh icon is available on all pages except the Register Input and Register Output pages.
