Set up default logistical date/time
A logistical date is automatically created when releasing a sales (return) order, a purchase (return) order, or a transfer order. The Shop Floor Activities page contains this logistical date, and it is used to chronologically display all outstanding logistics activities. The page is to support the planning in the warehouse, and it shows an overview of all warehouse activities. To use a logistical time, this must first be set for the customer, the vendor, and for the transfer route.
The Logistical Time cannot be set for the order types production, assembly, and service as this is copied from the document itself or left blank. The following Logistical Date for these order types are shown in the Shop Floor Activities:
Production Consumption: The Due Date-Time on the Production Order Components specifies the due date and the due time, which are combined in a format called "due date-time".
Production Output: The Ending Date-Time on the Production Order specifies the ending date and the ending time, which are combined in a format called "ending date-time".
Assembly Consumption: The Starting Date on the Assembly Order specifies the date when the assembly order is expected to start.
Service Order: The Planned Delivery Date on the Service Item Worksheet specifies the planned date that the shipment will be delivered at the customer's address.
Customer and Ship-to Address
The combination of the Shipment Date and the Logistical Time is shown on the Shop Floor Activities page as the Logistical Date/Time for order types Sales Order and Sales Return Order. The Shipment Date on a Sales (Return) Order specifies when items on the document are shipped or were shipped. The Logistical Time specifies the time when items on the document are shipped or were shipped. The Logistical Time can be set up for the Customer and/or for the Ship-to Address.
- Select the Search icon
, enter Customers, and then choose Customers. - Select and click No. for the required customer to open the Customer Card.
- On the Shipping FastTab, in the Logistical Time field, enter the time when items on the document are to be shipped or were shipped.
The Logistical Time for the Customer is now set up. This is the standard time that a delivery is shipped to this Customer. - On the action bar, click Navigate > Ship-to Addresses.
- On the Ship-to Address List page, select and click the required Code .
- On the Ship-to Address page, on the General FastTab, in the Logistical Time, field enter the time when items on the document are to be shipped or were shipped.
The system automatically inherits the Logistical Time field value on the Customer Template page from the Customer Card page. Additionally, you can manually select the field value.
The Logistical Time for the Ship-to Address is now set up. This is the standard delivery time to ship to this Ship-to Address.
Vendor and Order Address
The combination of the Expected Receipt Date and the Logistical Time is shown on the Shop Floor Activities page as the Logistical Date/Time for order types Purchase Order and Purchase Return Order. The Expected Receipt Date on a Purchase (Return) Order specifies the date you expect the items to be available in your warehouse. The Logistical Time specifies when items are expected to be available in the warehouse. The Logistical Time can be set up for the Vendor and/or the Order Address.
- Select the Search icon
, enter Vendors, and then choose Vendors. - Select and click No. for the required vendor to open the Vendor Card.
- On the Receiving FastTab, in the Logistical Time field, enter the time when you expect the items to be available in the warehouse.
The Logistical Time for the Vendor is now set up. This is the standard time that a delivery is received from this Vendor. - On the action bar, click More options > Related > Vendor > Order Addresses.
- On the Order Address List page, select and click the required Code.
- On the Order Address page, on the General FastTab, in the Logistical Time field, enter the time you expect the items to be available in the warehouse.
The system automatically inherits the Logistical Time field value on the Vendor Template page from the Vendor Card page. Additionally, you can manually select the field value.
The Logistical Time for the Order Address is now set up. This is the standard time that a delivery is received from this Order Address.
The Expected Receipt Date field on the Invoice FastTab of the Purchase Order page must also be filled to be able to view the Logistical Date/Time on the Shop Floor Activities page.
Transfer Route
The combination of the Shipment Date and the Logistical Time Shipment is shown on the Shop Floor Activities page as the Logistical Date/Time for order type Transfer Order(outgoing). The Shipment Date on a Transfer Order specifies when items on the document are shipped or were shipped. The Logistical Time Shipment specifieswhen items on the document are shipped or were shipped. The Logistical Time Shipment can be set up for a Transfer Route on the Trans. Route Spec. page.
The combination of the Receipt Date and the Logistical Time Receipt is shown on the Shop Floor Activities page as the Logistical Date/Time for order type Transfer Order(incoming). The Receipt Date on the Transfer Order specifies the date that you expect the transfer-to location to receive the shipment. The Logistical Time Receipt specifies the time that you expect the transfer-to location to receive the shipment. The Logistical Time Receipt can be set up for a Transfer Route on the Trans. Route Spec. page.
- Select the Search icon
, enter Transfer Routes, and then choose Transfer Routes. - Click a record with the value TRANSIT.
- On the Trans. Route Spec. page, on the General FastTab, in the Logistical Time Shipment field, enter the time when items on the document are to be shipped or were shipped.
- In the Logistical Time Receipt field, enter the time that you expect the transfer-to location to receive the shipment.
The Logistical Time for the Shipment is now set up. This is the standard time that a delivery is shipped from the transfer-from Location.
The Logistical Time for the Receipt is now set up. This is the standard time that a delivery is received on the transfer-to Location.
