Manage sales orders

To manually create production orders from a sales order, follow these steps:

1. On the Sales Order page, on the action bar, select Actions > Plan > Planning.
   The Sales Order Planning page opens.
2. Select the Create Prod. Order action to create a production order for the sales order.
   A dialog opens.
3. In the Prod. Order Status field, select the status of the production order you are creating. The available options are: Planned, Firm Planned, Released.

   > The system updates the production order components with the information from broken source items instead of the production BOM when the Prod. Order Status field value is set to Released.
4. In the Order Type field, select one of the following options:
   • Item Order: Create production orders per item.
   • Project Order: Create a production order for all the items in the sales order.
5. Select Yes.
   The system creates the production orders and updates the production order components with the broken source items instead of the production BOM.

You can select Related > Order > Production Orders to view the details of production orders created from the sales order.
