With the product specification analysis, it is possible to create simple analysis views in a matrix view.

You can create a matrix view to see all information from the product specification for a group of items. For example, compare the allergens or the nutritional values for a group of items with the matrix views.

Set up product specification analysis

Before creating an analysis view, you must set up the base tables for analysis and define the product specification analysis setup.

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Product Specification Analysis Setup and then choose the related link.
The Product Specification Analysis Setup page opens.
  2. Select New.
  3. In the Analysis Option field, select an option to create analysis views.
    • Ingredients & Additives
    • Allergens
    • Nutrition
    • Materials
    • Dietary
    • Tracking & Tracing
    • Logistics
  4. In the Data Type field, select the data type from which the information should be retrieved:
    • Fields: Information including nutritional values, standards, dietary intake is stored as fields directly in the "Product Specification" table.
    • Records: Information about ingredients, additives, allergens, and materials are stored as records in separate tables.
  5. In the Source Table field, select the source table number.

When the data type is Records, select the specific source table for that option, e.g., the table "Ingredient" or "Allergen".

When the data type is Fields, select the table "Product Specification" as the source table.

  1. In the Data Source Table field, select the actual table where the information is stored, e.g., the table "Prod. Spec. Ingredient" or "Prod. Spec. Allergen".
This field is applicable only when the data type is Records.
  2. In Data Source Value Field, select the field value to use in the analysis. E.g., the Printed % field value for ingredients and additives, the Presence field value for allergens, and the Used Weight field value for materials.
This field is applicable only when the data type is Records.
  3. In Data Source Code Field, select the field code to use in the analysis view. The code specifies which field value must be shown in the Row Description field on the Edit - Product Specification Analysis page.
This field is applicable only when the data type is Records.
  4. In the No. of Decimals field, enter the number of decimals that must be shown for the value specified in Data Source Value Field. This field is applicable only for the decimal field type.
  5. Similarly, create multiple lines for different analysis options, as necessary
  6. For a line with the Fields data type, it is possible to set up a field range. Select Field Range Lines in the action bar.
  7. On the Edit - Product Specification Analysis Range page, enter the range of fields in the From Field No. and the To Field No. fields to show in the analysis.
