Business Central

The Aptean Foundation Layer (FLY) extension serves as a bridge connecting installed Aptean extensions, facilitating seamless interaction between them. It enables extensions to communicate with each other independently, eliminating the need for external dependencies. However, it is important to note that extensions utilizing the Aptean Foundation Layer are inherently dependent on this extension for their functionality.

This extension lays the groundwork for the overall application architecture, guaranteeing uniformity, scalability, and ease of maintenance across all installed Aptean extensions. Using this app, it is possible to share data, open functional usage between Aptean extensions, and integrate food processes without dependency. Extensions can be developed and maintained independently of each other.

When an extension is not installed, the interface with the Aptean Foundation Layer simply won't respond, avoiding errors. This allows users to choose which extensions they want to use and install/upgrade them independently, as long as there are no compatibility issues.

Power Apps

The Aptean Foundation Layer acts as a bridge between Aptean Power Apps, enabling them to interact seamlessly without relying on external dependencies. Similar to the Business Central Foundation Layer, Power Apps extensions that are built upon this layer inherently depend on it for functionality.
This foundation layer establishes a foundation for building Power Apps, ensuring consistency, scalability, and maintainability across all Aptean Power Apps. It facilitates:

  • Data sharing: Power Apps can share data with each other, eliminating the need for manual data transfer.
  • Functional usage: Power Apps can leverage functionalities from other Power Apps, extending their capabilities.
  • Integration: Food processing workflows can be integrated seamlessly without relying on additional applications.
  • Independent development and maintenance: Power Apps can be developed and maintained independently, promoting agility and flexibility.

If a Power App is not installed, the interface with the Aptean Foundation Layer simply won't respond, avoiding errors. This allows users to choose which Power Apps they want to use and install/upgrade independently, as long as there are no compatibility issues.
