Consumption Journal Lines for Catch Weight Item
You can post the consumption quantity of the Catch Weight item using the Consumption Journal or Production Journal. The Item Weight Ledger Entries are created while posting the Consumption Journal.
- After updating the Quantity (base) and Weight Quantity (KG) values in the item tracking lines on the Consumption Journal page, select Actions > Posting > Other > Post.
- Select Yes to post the Consumption Journal.
For catch weight items without costing by weight, the system only records the weight values and updates the item weight ledger entries without performing cost allocation. For catch weight items with costing by weight, both quantity and cost distribution are based on the document weight lines.
The Quantity (KG) and Invoiced Quantity (KG) fields on the Item Weight Ledger Entries are updated in accordance with the Item Ledger Entry generated by Business Central.
Following consumption posting, the Document Weight Lines on the Consumption Journal line, as well as the item tracking lines for the selected item, are deleted.
The Act. Consumption (Weight Qty) field is updated actual consumption posted in the Consumption Journal or Production Journal, that is Quantity (KG) value from the Item Weight Ledger Entries.
