You can convert standing orders to sales orders either manually or through automated job queue scheduling. The conversion process creates new sales orders based on the standing order configuration and the specified date or date range.
To convert standing orders to sales orders manually, follow these steps below:
- Select the Search icon, enter Convert Standing Sales Orders, and then choose the related link.
The Convert Standing Sales Orders page opens. -
Enter the required information in the following field values:
Field Description Conversion Method Select the method to convert standing orders into sales orders. The available options are: Single Date and Range of Dates. Conversion Start Date Offset Select the number of days from today for the starting date. Conversion Range Duration (Days) Select the number of days to include in the conversion range. -
Select OK to run the conversion.
The system processes standing orders for the specified date range and creates sales orders.
For each date in the specified range, the system:
- Identifies standing orders where the Starting Date and Ending Date field values include the conversion date.
- Checks if a sales header already exists for the same customer, ship-to code, and date (based on the Date to Use field value on the Sales Call Plan Setup page).
- If a sales header exists with the same Standing Order No. field value, the conversion is skipped and an error log entry is created. If a sales header exists, for the same date but with a different or blank Standing Order No. field value, the conversion is skipped and an error log entry is created.
For valid conversions, the system creates a sales header with:
- The Sell-To Customer No. and Ship-To Code field values from the standing order header.
The system validates each field during entry. If validation fails, the system removes the line and creates an error log entry.
