Walkthrough: Post consumption from the production Location

In our company our bottling line is consuming beer, bottles ,crates, etc… from the production location. The bottling line ends in our shipment warehouse at the wrapping machine.

Warehouse Employees in the warehouse location post the output, check Walkthrough: Add Production Output to the scanner and post output.
And Production Employees post consumption from within the Production Location.

Required documents to scan:

Check Setup to scan consumption

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Locations and then choose the related link.
  2. Select the Location PROD_OWM.
  3. Select the Configure OWM action.
  4. Check the fields on the Journal Setup FastTab, Production Consumption.

Explanation
To guide the Production Employee to the bin with the oldest Lot No, we use one picking template line.
Be aware any item, Lot tracked, LPN tracked, not tracked, can be scanned, so consumed.

  1. Select the Modules on Scanner action.
  2. Select the Adv. Prod Consumption Module.
  3. Check the module.
  4. Close all pages.

Create a production order

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Released Production Orders, and then choose the related link.
  2. Select the New action.
  3. Enter 1212 in the field Source No.
  4. Enter 4000 in the field Quantity.
  5. Enter SILVER_OWM in the field Location Code.
  6. Enter SO-BULK-11 in the field Bin Code.
  7. Select the Refresh Production Order action.
  8. Select OK.
  9. Select the first line.
  10. Select the Components action in the Lines.
  11. Change the Location Code in all field lines to PROD_OWM. Add the field to the Page if not available.
  12. Close the Prod. Order Components.

Post Consumption on the scanner

  1. Open the OWM 6 App on the scanner and login to Location PROD_OWM, OWM - Production site Birmingham - Bonded.
  2. Check the group Production.
  3. Select the Module Prod. Consump, this opens the document list.
  4. Select the first line, this opens the item list.

Due to these items not having a GTIN code we can only select the items by scanning the item code or by long pressing a line to register.

  1. Scan the Bin BT01. The bin appears above the Quantity Input.
  2. In the Quantity Input field, enter 319.
  3. Long press on the first line.
  4. Scan the Lot No. LB-0014.
  5. When all quantity or more is consumed for an item, the line for this item will disappear from the list.
  6. Scan the Bin PACKAGE 01.
    The bin appears above the Quantity Input.
  7. In the Quantity Input field, enter 10000.
  8. Scan Item 6711.
  9. Scan the Lot No. CR455.
  10. The quantity in the item line is reduced to 86000.
  11. Choose Complete, Yes, to finish the Consumption.
  12. Close the document list.

Explanation
Every time a scan is performed, a line is created in the OWM Entries of the document line in the OWM Activity List. This line has all the information to be able to post the consumption of the scanned License Plate.
The boolean Consumption Journal in the OWM Configuration of the Location PROD_OWM is enabled, what means Consumption will automatically been posted when completing the Receipt on the scanner.
If the Consumption Journal Boolean was disabled, you can check the OWM Entries in the OWM Activity List before manually posting the Consumption.

The consumption is posted, to verify the warehouse movements, check the Warehouse Entries and the Detailed Warehouse Entries.

For Adv. Prod. Consumption module, on scanning an item for a production order when Post Production Consumption is selected in the Posting Handler field, on the Visibility FastTab on the Module Settings page, the consumption is immediately posted.
