Manage lot attribute hierarchy templates

You can create lot attribute hierarchy templates, define parent-child relation levels, and specify allowed lot attribute values per level. For more information, see Set up lot attribute hierarchy templates.

You can apply these lot attribute hierarchy templates to item or item category lots. For more information, see Apply hierarchy templates to item or item category lots.

When you assign lots in purchase documents and output lines of production orders, the system automatically inherits lot attributes defined in the hierarchy template associated with the item on the Lot Attribute Values page. When the system filters lots in sales documents, component line of production orders, and transfer orders, it automatically filters lot attributes as defined in the hierarchy template associated with the item on the Lot Attribute Filter Requirements page.
