Apply hierarchy templates to item or item category lots

To apply a lot attribute hierarchy template to items or item category lots, follow these steps:

  1. On the Lot Attribute Template page, in the Hierarchy Code field, select the AssistEdit button.

    The system displays only the highest parent level hierarchy templates on the Lot Attribute Hierarchy Templates page.

  2. Select the hierarchy template you want to apply to the lot attribute template and then select OK.

    The system inherits all the attributes and their associated allowed values as defined in the selected hierarchy.

  3. On the lot attribute template line with the Level field value set to 1, select the Fixed Value field value.

    The system updates the values in the Allowed Values field for each lot attribute template line that follow in the hierarchy.

    Repeat this step to select fixed values for the other lot attribute template lines in ascending order of levels.

  • The system automatically applies the hierarchy applied to lots on an item category level to all the items associated with the item category.
  • The hierarchy applied to lots on an item level precedes the setup on the item category level.

Then, you can assign lot attribute hierarchy to items or item categories. The system ensures that only allowed lot attribute values are selected for each level as defined in the hierarchy associated with the item in documents.
