Features

With the features added in this release of the Aptean Warehouse Management System extension,

• The system supports label printing for non-base units of measure in the production output process.
  Labels are printed based on the unit of measure and barcode information defined in the production order and item reference. The system selects the appropriate barcode and recalculates the label quantity when the production order uses a non-base UoM, such as PALLET.
  The label printing behavior is updated as follows:
  • If a barcode with the Label Print checkbox selected uses a non-base UoM, and the requested quantity is a whole number that matches a full unit (such as one full pallet), the system prints that barcode using the appropriate UoM and recalculated quantity.
  • In all other cases, the system prints the barcode using the base UoM and the requested quantity.

• You can control whether warehouse receipt and inventory movement documents are automatically released to the scanner. You can configure which document types are automatically sent to the scanner, eliminating the need to manually release them each time. This functionality is controlled by the Auto Release to scanner toggle on the Module Settings page, where the Module field value is set to Warehouse Receipt or Movement.
  When the Auto Release to scanner toggle is turned on, the related activity is created in the WMS activity list for the corresponding module type (warehouse receipt or movement) and appears in the document list on the Aptean WMS scanner.

  
  The Auto Release to scanner toggle is editable only when the Module field value is set to Warehouse Receipt or Movement.

• You can define whether to display the expected stock count on the Stock Count screen in the Aptean WMS app by configuring the Stock Count toggle on the WMS Configuration page associated with the Location Card page.

• A new line can be registered on the WMS Android App and added to an empty Physical Inventory Journals page when executing the Show WMS Entries action.

Enhancements/Modifications

With this release of the Aptean Warehouse Management System extension,

• The scanner interface displays bin codes instead of bin descriptions. This ensures that warehouse employees can scan the exact bin code shown on the scanner, improving scanning accuracy.

• The character limit of the Picking Group field value has been increased to 20 on the Bin Capacity page.

• You can assign the bins to separate picking and put-away groups to support more flexible warehouse operations. This enhancement allows you to define two distinct bin groups for a single bin, one for the picking process and another for the put-away process on the Bins page associated with the warehouse location. This enables optimized warehouse flows to different operational strategies for inbound and outbound logistics.

All put-away flows consider the put-away group assigned to bins to ensure accurate placement of items.

• The sub module template functionality has been enhanced to support the Item Put-Away Templates option for the Bin Suggestion field, improving warehouse accuracy during ad hoc movements.
  The conditions and restrictions in the Sub Module Template page of the ad hoc movement are as follows:
  • The Item Put-Away Templates option in the Suggest Bin field on the Sub Module Templates page is only available when the Put-Away Template Guidance toggle on the WMS Configuration page is turned on.
  • When the Suggest Bin field value is set to Item Put-Away Templates on the Sub Module Templates page,
    • The Replenishment Pick Template Group field value on the Sub Module Templates page must be empty.
    • The Multi Take Mode field can have any value.
    • The Multi Place Mode field value can only be set to blank.
    • The system calculates the destination bin in the Place Modus field on the ad hoc movement screen using the same logic as standard put-away processes.
  • If the Replenishment Pick Template Group field has a value, the Item Put-Away Templates option in the Suggest Bin field on the Sub Module Templates page cannot be selected.
  • If the Suggest Bin field value is set to Preferred Bin or Item Put-Away Templates option, the Replenishment Pick Template Group field value must be blank.
    The system calculates the destination bin in the Place Modus field using the logic of standard put-away processes to guide the warehouse employee to the correct bin.
    The enhanced flow includes:
    • Scanning the license plate number in the Take mode.
    • Receiving bin guidance based on item-specific put-away templates in the the Place mode.
    • Scanning and checking the destination bin and license plate number before completing the registration.

• The ad hoc movements functionality has been enhanced to support the Put-Away Templates option based validation during license plate number registration. This ensures that license plate numbers are registered using the same logic as standard put-away processes, improving consistency and accuracy in warehouse operations.
  The system validates as follows:
• When the Put-Away Template Guidance toggle on the WMS Configuration page is turned on:
  • Bin suggestions follow the same logic as bulk put-away processes, even for multiple license plate numbers.
  • The Ad Hoc Movement Template Check option in the Validator field on the Module Validation page becomes available. When enabled, it ensures bin registration is verified against template logic. -The enhanced flow includes:
  • Scanning the license plate number in Take mode.
  • Receiving bin guidance based on item-specific put-away templates in Place mode.
  • Scanning and checking the destination bin and license plate number before completing the registration.

• The display functionality for ad hoc movements has been enhanced, providing warehouse employees with improved visibility and control over produced license plates in the production output bin(s). When the Take Bin field value is specified on the Sub Module Templates page, the system checks for available inventory and updates the display behavior as follows:
  • The Take Bin field value appears before the description in the document list of the Ad Hoc Movement screen.
  • If the take bin contains license plate content, the quantity of license plate numbers apperas before the take bin.
  • If inventory exists in the bin code, the item list opens in the Place Mode screen.
  • If no inventory exists, the item list opens in the Take Mode screen.

• Enhancements have been made to validate user permission sets and licenses when accessing the application.
  The system automatically verifies that users have the correct permissions and licenses assigned before allowing access to specific functionalities.
• If a required permission set or license is not valid, certain functionalities are disabled to ensure that the application is used only by authorized users, maintaining security and compliance.

• The license plate type handling in warehouse receipt process has been enhanced to ensure proper tracking and consistency when receiving items.
  • If the SSCC No. field has a value in the WMS entry line and the License Plate Type field value is empty, the system automatically assigns the license plate type from the corresponding warehouse receipt line.
  • If the SSCC corresponds to an existing license plate number in the receipt bin of the warehouse receipt line, and the license plate type does not match, the system displays an error message.
  • If the License Plate Type field value is left blank when posting the warehouse receipt, the system displays an error message, ensuring that the receipt cannot be posted without a valid license plate type.

UI/UX changes

The following UI/UX changes have been made in this release.

• The Take Bin field has been added to the Sub Module Templates page.
• The WMS Module Type field has been added to the Warehouse Entries and Detailed Warehouse Entries pages.
• The Put-Away Group field has been added to the Bin Contents page and the Bins page associated with the WMS location.
• The Stock Count group has been added to the Journal Setup FastTab on the WMS Configuration page associated with the Location Card page.
• The Bin Code Display toggle has been added to the Company Settings (WMS) page.
• The Auto Release to scanner toggle has been added to the Module Settings page for all the modules.
• The Picking Group checkbox has been added to the Bin Groups page.
• The Item Put-Away Templates option has been added to the Suggest Bin field of the Sub Module Templates page.
• The Quantity on LPN field has been renamed to Quantity on LPN (Base UoM) on the BT Prod. order labels page.
• The Block double LPN on Purchase checkbox has been renamed to Block double LPN on Warehouse Receipt on the License Plate Tracking Codes page.
• The Bin Group field has been renamed to Picking Group on the Bin Contents page and the Bins page associated with the WMS location.

Resolved issues
