Introduction

The Aptean Transport extension allows you to control inbound and outbound transport. Transport requests can be scheduled in transport planning, and transport orders can be created to be sent to your shipping agent.

With this extension, you can create transport requests while releasing the following documents:

• Purchase Orders
• Sales Orders
• Purchase Return Orders
• Sales Return Orders
• Transfer Orders

When an order is released, a Transport Request is automatically generated for each Location/Shipment date combination. On enabling the Trip No. feature, the Trip No. value also acts as an additional key which is used to assign specific document lines to separate transport requests. Upon the release of the document, a separate transport request will be used for each combination of Location Code, and Shipment Date.

The Transport Planning page provides an overview of all transport requests, making it easier to combine multiple requests into a transport order. Since the source documents of a transport request can change over time, it can be a challenging job to schedule transport. With useful functions and insights, the Transport Planning page helps you follow up on changes and estimate the floor space for a transport order.

The Transport Routes page provides the ease to create routes for specific periods of time, and further to a specific customer via the Transport Route Assignment page.

Furthermore, the extension gives insight into the transport costs by creating purchase orders for the shipping agent.
