To assign taxes to a customer

Setting up tax classifications on customer can be done with the use of the “auto create” function on the Default Tax Classifications, or by manual selection:

Auto create tax set up on customers

  1. Select the Search icon alt text, enter Customers, and then choose the related link.
  2. Open the customer card for a customer that will be eligible for taxes.
  3. In the Default Tax Classification field, select a code for the relevant tax for the customer.

Manually create tax set up on Customers

  1. Select the Search icon alt text, enter Customers, and then choose the related link.
  2. Open the relevant customer card, and then choose the Tax action.
  3. Fill in the fields on the lines as necessary. Hover over a field to read a short description.
  4. Choose the Tax Classifications action.
  5. Fill in the fields on the lines as necessary. Hover over a field to read a short description.
