This exercise will help you to get a better understanding of the Aptean Beverage Tax Management App. The exercise can be performed in the CRONUS DIT DEMO company.
NoteCreate a copy of this company to keep your CRONUS DIT DEMO in the original state. In the copy you can do all the exercises that are included in the training.
Exercise 4 - Tax on master data
- Create a new spirit excise item
- Item Template = 540 – Trade Items – Spirits
- Unit Volume = 1L
- ABV = 40
- It is not a UK produced whisky
- Do you see a Tax Amount in the Item Tax Class. Relations FactBox?
- Can you explain the amount?
- Create a beer excise item
- Item Template = 450 Finished products – beer
- Unit Volume = 1L
- ABV = 5
- The beer is UK produced by a large brewery
- Do you see a Tax Amount in the Item Tax Class. Relations FactBox?
- Can you explain the amount?
- You made a mistake. The beer is imported from a large brewery. What happens when you change the Default Tax Classification?
- Create a “giftbox item”. A giftbox does not have tax setup by itself, but the tax is defined by its components. We call that the Tax BOM.
- Item Template = 450 Finished products – beer
- The box contains
- 4 of your beer
- 2 of your spirit
- Create a duty paid customer
- Use the customer template
- Do you need to setup anything for excises for this customer?
- The customer has a shipping address that is a registered premise. Create the address with the tax setup. (select a VAT Bus. Posting Group, is a bug to be fixed).
- Create a customer who only has a license for spirits (registered premise)
- Use the same template
- Adjust the Tax Classification for spirits by using the Tax Management action on the customer card.
- Create a duty free location
- The location does not have a license for WINE. Use the Tax Management action to make the setup.
- Create Inventory Posting Setup for Inv. Posting Group 450 and 500 (suggest accounts)
