Shop Floor Production Setup and Monitoring

In the Shop Floor Production Setup and Monitoring app you can set up a number of settings for the Shop Floor Production Power App, and view the data stored in the CDS tables.

When opening the Shop Floor Production Setup, a Monitoring app dashboard is shown with information about the shop floor time and failure from the last 13 weeks. You can create or edit a dashboard yourself.

Failure codes

In the Shop Floor Production Power App, there is a failure status. When the status is changed to ‘Failure’, provide a reason for the failure. The reasons for the failure are given by means of a reason code which can be set up in the Shop Floor Production Setup and Monitoring app.

  1. Select Failure Codes.
  2. Select the New menu item.
  3. Select the Failure Code text field and enter Failure Code.
  4. Select Save & Close.

Translations

You can select a language in the Shop Floor Production Power App. The languages and translations first need to be set up in the Setup and Monitoring app.

Languages

  1. Select Languages.
  2. Select the New menu item.
  3. Enter the Language Code. It is important that the language code is the two-character abbreviation for the language.
  4. Enter the Description.
  5. Enter the Windows Language ID. The Windows Language ID can also be included in the languages. This is the ID that is defined in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This code is used to translate the data in the App that originates from Dynamics 365 Business Central, such as Item description. It is important that this translation is included in Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  6. Save and close the Shop Floor Production Language.

The language is now set up and can now be selected in the Shop Floor Production Power App.

Translations

In the Translations overview, all current translations for labels and text are visible. You can adjust or add a translation. To add languages, please follow the instructions and utilize the Microsoft Excel file associated with the entry. For more information see here.

  1. Select Translations.
  2. Select the New menu item.
  3. Enter Key. The Key is used to retrieve the correct translation in the apps
  4. Enter the Language Code. This is the language code that is created in the language table.
  5. Enter the related Text. This is the translation that is shown in the apps
  6. Save and close this Shop Floor Production Translation.

The translation is now set up.

Transactions

All transactions made in the Shop Floor Production are stored in Dataverse. The following transactions are shown in this app:

  • Shop Floor Registrations Entries that exist all consumption and output registrations.
  • Shop Floor Production Statuses.
  • Shop Floor Production Time Entries for the statuses Start-up, Production and Failure.

The transactions are sent to Dynamics 365 Business Central. You cannot change the statuses and time entries.

  1. Select one of the following overviews:

    • Shop Floor Registration Entries
    • Shop Floor Statuses
    • Shop Floor Time Entries

    Sometimes there are different views for the entries.

  2. Select the title of the overview.

  3. Select an option from the list to select a view: Consumption, Output.

  4. Select the Shop Floor Time Entries. An overview of all values from the selected entry is shown.

  5. On the action bar, select Actions > Change Time Entry and fill in the required details to change the time entries.
    The value is now changed, and the capacity will be posted based on the changed time entry.

Note

The Change Time Entry action is not accessible for the users in the following scenarios:

  • If the Posted checkbox is selected for the defined entry.
  • If the released production order status is changed from Released to Finished.
