You can create a released production order using the required details filled in without posting the order on the Quick Production Entry page.

On the action bar, select Create Production Order to create a new released production order. To know more, see Release production orders.

Note

Before executing the action, ensure the Production Order No. field is empty.

After performing the Create Production Order action,

  • The order will be created with the corresponding To Item No., To Variant Code, To Location, To Bin, Due Date, Starting Date-Time, and Ending Date-Time.
  • The Quantity field on the Released Production Order will be set as per the Qty. to Output value from the Quick Production Entry page.
  • The Bin Code for the production order line will be updated from the To Bin defined on the Quick Production Entry page.
  • The To Item No. will be validated to update the related variables for the production order, such as Dimensions, Description, and Posting Groups.
  • If the Production Scenario was used on the Quick Production, the production order line will reflect the applied Production Scenario. Consequently, the Unit of Measure Code, Production BOM No., and routing lines are updated accordingly.
Note

On the Released Production Order page, the Quick Production toggle is turned on by default only when the released production order is created using the details provided on the Quick Production Entry page.

Insert routing lines

When you specify the Routing No. on the Quick Production Entry, the routing lines are automatically assigned to the production order line. The Bin Code of the production order line is determined by the From Bin of the last routing line. After the routing lines have been calculated, the Bin Code of the production order line is verified and updated.

Insert component line for main item consumption

After performing the Create Production Order action,

  • A component line is automatically generated based on the From item data.
  • The resulting component line for the main item being consumed will always have the Quantity per field value of “1”.
  • The Item Tracking Lines related to the Prod. Order Comp. Lines will exist as per the Lot No., License Plate No. set on the Quick Production Entry page.
  • The Component Pick Method field is set to Consolidated to ensure that picking is not required for consumption posting.
  • On the Prod. Order Components page, the Flushing Method field, is set to Manual for the main component line.

Finally, a component line is inserted into the production order for the main item’s consumption.
