Create quality control checks

You must integrate the Aptean Quality Control extension for BC with the Aptean Shop Floor Production extension to create Quality Control Checks based on the Work Centers, Production Orders, and on recurring basis. Prior to creating the Quality Control Checks, you must perform the following setup:

  • Install the Aptean Shop Floor Production app.
  • On the Work Center Card page, turn on the Show in Shop Floor toggle.
  • On the Action bar, select Related, choose Work Center, and then choose Office365 Users to add the user.

Follow the below steps to create Quality Control triggers to generate the Quality Control checks based on the Work Center setup:

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Quality Control Triggers, and then choose the related link.

  2. On the Quality Control Triggers list page, select New.

  3. In the Document Type field, choose Production Order.

  4. In the Document Action field, choose one of the following trigger actions:

    Create Quality Control checks
    Trigger actions
    For Work Center
    • Start Work Center
    • Stop Work Center
    • Failure Work Center
    For Production Order
    • Start Production Order
    • Finish Production Order
    On recurring basis
    • Recurring Time
    • Recurring Output Quantity

  5. Fill in the required fields to generate the Quality Control Check.

  6. Go to the Aptean Shop Floor Production Power App to turn on or off the Choose a Work Center toggle to start or stop the Work Center. For more information, see Shop Floor Production Work Instruction Setup.
    Alternatively, for Production Orders, you need to choose the Production Order on the Aptean Shop Floor Production Power App and then choose Start or Stop to create the Quality Control check trigger.

Creating quality control checks for multiple lots

You can create quality control checks for multiple lots on a source document. To do so, select the Per Lot checkbox for the source document on the Quality Control Triggers list page. This would enable you to create quality control checks for more than one lot on the source document.

When you reopen a released source document by choosing Home > Release > Reopen, the existing quality control check documents will be deleted. Once you release the document, new quality control checks will be created based on the modified data.
