Create ad-hoc quality control check
Follow the below steps to create an ad-hoc Quality Control Check:
- On the Quality Control Checks list page, choose New.
- On the Quality Control Check page, on the General FastTab, in the Quality Control Plan field, choose a Quality Control Plan.
- In the Quality Control Team field, choose a Quality Control Team.
- On the action bar, choose Actions > Calculate Lines.
The table is populated on the Lines FastTab.
An error occurs while posting the Quality Control Check when you change the Quality Control Plan after choosing Calculate Lines action. This leads to the selection of different lines and plan.
From headers and lines of source documents
You can create ad-hoc quality control checks from one of the following source document page:
- Warehouse Receipt (Purchase Receipt, Sales Return Receipt, Transfer Receipt)
- Sales Order
- Sales Return Order
- Purchase Order
- Purchase Return Order
- Warehouse Shipment (Sales Shipment, Purchase Return Shipment, Transfer Shipment)
- Transfer Order
Let’s use a Purchase Order as an example to learn how to create ad-hoc Quality Control checks.
To create an ad-hoc Quality Control check on the Purchase Order page, follow the below steps:
- On the Purchase Order page, on the action bar, choose Actions > Create Quality Control Check.
Alternatively, on the Lines FastTab, choose Functions > Create Quality Control Check.
When an ad-hoc Quality Control Check is created
- From a Header, it is not created for a specific item or a lot.
- From a Line, it is created for a specific item or a lot.
While creating an ad-hoc Quality Control Check from Lines on the Warehouse Receipt and the Transfer Order pages:
- On the Lines FastTab, choose Line > Create Quality Control Check.
- On the Create Quality Control Check page, in the Quality Control Team field, choose a team.
- In the Quality Control Plan field, choose a quality control plan.
- Click OK.
A dialog box appears to confirm creation of the Quality Control check. - Click Yes.
You can create ad-hoc Quality Control Checks from the header and line of Production Orders on the Released Production Order page.
You can also select a value in the Location Code and Work Center Code fields to create a Quality Control Check.
From lot card
You can create ad-hoc Quality Control Checks from the Lot Card of a product. Follow the below steps to create the Quality Control Check manually:
- Select the Search icon
, enter Lot No. Information List, and then choose the related link.
- On the Lot No. Information List page, choose the Lot No. relevant to the product.
- On the Lot No. Information Card page, on the action bar, choose Actions > Create Quality Control Check.
- Follow steps 2 through 4 on Ad-hoc Quality Control checks from headers and lines of Source Documents to create the Quality Control Check.
From the job queue
You can create an ad-hoc quality control check using the Create Quality Control Check page. This report is designed to generate general quality checklists or tasks, which can then be completed like any other quality control check in the system.
The Create Quality Control Check report can be triggered in the following ways:
- Manually, by opening the report page and entering the required details.
- Automatically, by scheduling it through the job queue.
- Directly, by selecting the Create Quality Control Check action on the Quality Control Setup page.
Create quality control check
To run the Create Quality Control Check report, follow these steps:
- Open the Create Quality Control Check page.
- In the Quality Control Team field, select the required code for the team responsible for completing the quality control check.
- In the Quality Control Plan field, select the appropriate plan code that defines the checklist or template for the quality control check.
- In the Location Code field, select the location where the quality control check should be carried out.
- In the Work Center Code field, select the work center associated with the quality control check.
- Select OK to create the quality control check.
- Select Schedule to run the Create Quality Control Check report automatically at a specified time or on a recurring basis, instead of running it manually each time.
