Manage item tracking and lots

You must define item tracking setting for raw meat items to ensure that a slaughter date is captured for each lot.

When the Slaughter Date field value is assigned for a particular lot, you cannot change it.

To set up an item with slaughter date tracking, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Search icon alt text, enter Item Journals, and then choose the related link.
    The Item Journals page opens.
  2. On the action bar, select Item Journals > Item Tracking.
    The Item Tracking Lines page opens.
  3. In the Slaughter Date field, enter the date for the selected lot.

When the Require Slaughter Date toggle on the Protein Essentials Setup page is turned on, it is mandatory to specify a date in the Slaughter Date field value on the Item Tracking Lines page. If the slaughter date is not entered, the system displays an error message when posting the document.

  1. Navigate back to the Item Journals page.
  2. On the action bar, select Post.
    After posting, the system inherits the Slaughter Date field value from the Item Tracking Lines page and is displayed to the following pages:
    • Item Ledger Entries
    • Lot No. Information List
    • Lot No. Information Card
    • Inventory Overview
