When the features of Microsoft Business Central version W1 15.1 were added, it was not possible to pick more or less than the specified quantity for a production order. The Aptean Production Over Pick extension makes it possible to pick more or less than the original quantity on the component line.

Registering over and under pick for a production order is possible via an inventory or a warehouse pick.

In case of over-pick, it is possible to register more than the original quantity, without increasing the pick quantity. For example, if for a production order 24.99 kg of a particular raw material is required and the package of that raw material contains 25 kg, then the employee can use and register the 25 kg without changing the production order.

In case of under-pick, it is possible to mark a warehouse activity line as complete, even though there is less registered then the original outstanding quantity. The remaining outstanding quantity will be set to zero after posting the warehouse activity line. An example of an under-pick is when a package of raw material is empty and it is not necessary to supplement it completely for the recipe. When using under-pick, it is not necessary to open a new package. The employee can register the picked quantity and the remaining quantity is set to zero after posting.

The Aptean Production Over Pick extension can only be used in combination with the Aptean Over Under Delivery extension.
