Setup
The pick activity can be configured for a particular mobile profile by selecting PICK in the Page field on the Mobile Profile Setup page.
The corresponding Description field values listed below are auto-populated.
-
Allow Register: Indicate whether mobile users will have the ability to register warehouse picks directly from a handheld device. If this option is not enabled, registering must be recorded through the Business Central client.
-
Input Qty. to Handle: Indicate whether mobile users will have the ability to enter the specific quantity of an item that will be handled as part of a pick activity. For example, if we enabled this option and wished to record a pick activity for 50 units of an item, we could enter a quantity to handle of 50 units. If this option is not enabled, the quantity to handle will always default to 1 unit of the item. This is useful when a company wishes to ensure that every unit of an item is recorded as part of the picking process. Using our previous example, not enabling this option would result in a default quantity of 1 unit, requiring that each of the 50 units be recorded as part of the pick activity.
-
Scan both Take and Place Bins: Indicate whether mobile users will be required to complete both the take and place components of picking activities. When a pick is created in Business Central, each item appears on two document lines – a “take” line in which the removal of the item from its storage bin is recorded, and a “place” line in which the placement of the item into a new bin is recorded. If this option is set to Yes, picks will be completed through the Planned Move activity, rather than the Pick activity. In many environments, it is not necessary to record both take and place activities separately, and this requirement ultimately represents a redundant step. In such a scenario, the take and place setting can be set to No, in which case the Pick activity will be used, and entered activity for an item will instruct the application to update both the associated take and place lines.
-
Accumulate Qty.: Indicate whether the recording of multiple pick quantities against the same document line will be cumulative. If this option is enabled, a pick quantity will continue to increase with each activity. For example, if we recorded a pick quantity of 2 units against a document line, then recorded a second pick quantity of 3 units against the same line, the total quantity to pick would be 5 units. If this option is not enabled, the last recorded quantity will be interpreted as the quantity to pick. Using our previous scenario, recording first a quantity of 2 units and then a quantity of 3 units would result in a total quantity to pick of 3 units. Please note that when the setting in the Input Qty. to Handle field is set to No, it is recommended that this feature be enabled, since a direction to not accumulate entered quantities would result in the quantity to handle for all activities being set to 1 unit.
-
Require Qty. Confirmation: When the setting in the Input Qty. to Handle field is set to No, the quantity to handle for an item being processed as part of a pick activity will default to a value of 1 unit. If the require quantity confirmation option is enabled, mobile users must confirm this entry of 1 unit before it will be recorded as being picked. If this option is not enabled, the pick activity will be automatically recorded with the entry of the relevant item number. If the setting in the Input Qty. to Handle field is set to Yes, mobile users will always have the ability to enter the handled quantity, and the require quantity confirmation setting will be ignored.
-
Confirm partial register: When the Allow Register description is set to Yes, you can register picked documents directly from a handheld device. If the Confirm Partial Register description is also set to Yes, you can register partially completed picks. If this description is set to No, only fully picked activities can be registered. If the Allow Register description is set to No, registering from mobile devices is not allowed, and the confirm partial register setting is ignored.
-
Auto register on palletize: When this setting is set to No, the mobile user can end a partial pick procedure and continue with next line of the warehouse pick document by scanning the applied partial picked license plate number two times in a row. Note that the partially picked license plate number can, for example, be a license plate number that corresponds with the new license plate number pattern set up on the Mobile Setup.
When Auto Register on Palletize is set to ‘Yes’ and the mobile user scans the new License Plate number twice a row, the scanned lines linked to the warehouse pick will be registered. -
Auto Print License Plate Label: Indicates whether the License Plate label will be printed automatically. If this option is enabled, when you generate a new pick License Plate during the picking process due to a partial movement, a new label will be printed automatically for this License Plate after the warehouse pick is registered.
-
Use scanned Serial No. - Indicates how the system processes serial numbers from GS1-128 barcodes. When set to Shipping Unit No. scanned serial numbers are considered as shipping unit numbers instead of their default serial number. When set to Ignore, the system will not process the serial number.
-
Application Identifier Quantity Sequence - Specifies the order in which the system should look for quantity information in GS1-128 barcodes during picking activities. It checks the quantity in a sequence and compares the unit of measure between the identifier and item.
-
Registration Timeout (sec) - Specifies the amount of time the system allows for registering an activity related to pick before it times out.
-
Create SSCC lines - Specifies if the SSCC lines are to be generated automatically for the pick based on the setting of the Enable SSCC toggle and the Require Shipping Unit Registration field on the Customer SSCC Setup page.
The table below displays the different possibilities and their results:
Create SSCC Lines Enable SSCC Result Yes Turned on SSCC lines are automatically generated for scanned entries during the registration of pick. Yes Turned off SSCC lines are not generated for scanned entries during the registration of pick. Manual creation is disabled in Business Central. No Turned on SSCC lines are not automatically generated for scanned entries during the registration of pick. Manual creation is enabled in Business Central through the Warehouse Shipment page. No Turned off SSCC lines are not automatically generated for scanned entries during the registration of pick. Manual creation is disabled in Business Central. For all the above conditions, the Require Shipping Unit Registration field should be set to No.
-
Stay on Pick After Registration - When this description value is set to Yes, the mobile user remains on the Pick screen after registering a partially picked line and can continue picking the remaining quantity. If this description value is set to No, the mobile user needs to reopen the warehouse pick to pick the remaining quantity.
-
Auto Print SSCC Label - When this description value is set to Yes, the system automatically prints the SSCC label after registering the pick. This is based on the Label Printing Method field value configured on the Mobile Setup page. If this description value is set to No, the mobile user needs to manually print the SSCC label via Business Central.
-
Auto Confirm GRAI Scan - Indicates whether to enable automatic confirmation of both quantity and weight when using GRAI scanning in warehouse operations. This reduces manual verification when handling returnable assets.
-
Clear SSCC after partial registration - When this description value is set to Yes, the system clears the SSCC field value on the Pick screen after partial registration of the warehouse pick. If this description value is set to No, the system retains the SSCC field value.
The same functionality applies for license plate tracked items with a non-license plate tracked location.
-
Auto Start GRAI Autofill - Indicates whether to automate the GRAI autofill process within the warehouse pick operation instead of manually executing the Start GRAI Autofill action on the Pick screen during warehouse operations.
