These handheld units offer wireless communication with the company’s network, allowing employees to enter data from anywhere without being tied to a workstation. The implementation of these devices brings several benefits and improved data capture capabilities, including:

For instance, when processing a shipment receipt, manually entering information for each case can be time-consuming. With barcode scanning capabilities on handheld units, relevant data such as item quantity, lot number, and weight can be instantly captured, eliminating the need for manual entry.
• Increased Accuracy: Manual data entry leaves room for human error, which can lead to incorrect values being recorded. Mobile devices equipped with barcode scanning functionality ensure accurate data capture. By scanning barcodes, employees can swiftly and accurately record the necessary information, eliminating the risk of keying in incorrect values.

The Aptean Mobile Warehouse Registration extension offers a robust application that enables organizations to establish mobile communication with a Dynamics 365 Business Central environment. This extension provides various transaction options that represent common business activities, including inventory movements, physical inventory counting, receiving, picks, and put-aways. Companies have the flexibility to select and utilize the transactions that align with their specific processes, adapting the solution to their needs.

It’s important to note that the current implementation of the solution supports locations that require warehouse put-away and warehouse receive processing. However, locations set up to require put-away processing alone, without receive processing, are not supported at this time.

Please be aware that the solution does not currently support advanced warehouse configurations where the Directed Put-away and Pick toggle is enabled. These configurations involve more complex warehouse management processes and fall outside the scope of the current implementation.
