The Count activity utilizes Business Central’s standard Physical Inventory Journal functionality to process inventory adjustments. As a result, in order to properly work with this activity, you must set up at least one physical inventory item journal template with a defined number series:

Aptean Mobile Warehouse Registration will use this assigned number series to assign numbers to counting activities that are added to a specified journal batch through a handheld device.

The Count activity can be configured for a particular mobile profile by entering COUNT in the Page field on the Mobile Profile Setup page.

Fill in the fields as follows:

  • Show Qty. Calculated: Indicate whether you want the Aptean Mobile Warehouse Registration page to include information about the calculated on hand quantity for a physical inventory item. This information is copied directly from the Qty. (Calculated) field on the corresponding journal line in Business Central.
  • Show Remaining Tab: Indicate whether mobile users will have the ability to access a Remaining tab that contains information about the remaining items that need to be counted as part of a physical inventory activity.
  • Show Counted Tab: Indicate whether mobile users will have the ability to access a Counted tab that contains information about the items that have already been counted as part of a physical inventory activity.
  • Show Details Tab: Indicate whether mobile users will have the ability to access a Details tab that contains additional information about the items that are included as part of a physical inventory activity.
  • Accumulate Counts: Indicate whether the recording of multiple count quantities against the same journal line will be cumulative. If this option is enabled, a counted quantity will continue to increase with each activity. For example, if we recorded a quantity of 2 units against a journal line, then recorded a second quantity of 3 units against the same line, the total quantity would be 5 units. If this option is not enabled, the last recorded quantity will be interpreted as the counted quantity. Using our previous scenario, recording first a quantity of 2 units and then a quantity of 3 units would result in a total quantity of 3 units.
  • Confirm Insert New Line: Indicate whether a confirmation must be given when the user enters a combination that was not part of the count.
