Item units of measure
You can manage and update the unit of measure details for items, including essential attributes such as weight, volume, and corresponding quantities on the Item Units of Measure page. This configuration helps you to ensure that your item measurements are accurately maintained across various units of measure. You can use this page to enter and adjust values for net weight, tare weight, gross weight, and cubage for each unit of measure associated with an item.
To configure and update item units of measure, follow these steps:

Select the Search icon
, enter Items, and then choose the related link.
The Items list page opens. -
Select the required No. to open the relevant Item Card page.
The Item Card page opens. -
On the action bar, select Related > Item > Units of Measure.
The Item Units of Measure page opens. -
Enter the required information in the following fields:
Field Description Code Select the relevant unit of measure code. Net Weight Enter the net weight of a single item unit for the selected unit of measure. This value is calculated by multiplying the Net Weight field value of the item’s base unit of measure and the Qty. per Unit of Measure field value of the selected unit of measure. Tare Weight Enter the tare weight of a single item unit for the selected unit of measure. The tare weight refers to the weight of the packaging or container, excluding the item itself. Gross Weight Enter the gross weight of a single item unit for the selected unit of measure.
This value is automatically calculated by adding the Net Weight and Tare Weight field values when the Automatic Gross Weight toggle on the Standard Measurements Setup page is turned on.Cubage Enter the volume of a single item unit for the selected unit of measure. This value is automatically calculated by multiplying the Height, Width, and Length field values. However, you can manually edit this value after it has been automatically updated.
This field is updated when the Length Group Code field contains a value, and the Standard Length Unit of Measure and Standard Cubage Unit of Measure fields are set to different values on the Standard Measurements Setup page.
The values in the Net Weight, Tare Weight, and Gross Weight fields are automatically updated with the corresponding values from the Item Card page, even if modified. This works when the Update Item UOM with Item Change toggle on the Standard Measurements Setup page is turned on. -
On the action bar, select Actions > Calculate Weights to update the Net Weight and Weight field values based on the recent modifications.
