Item card

You can manage weight related information for items, ensuring accurate inventory management and shipping calculations on the Item Card page. You can also update the Net Weight, Tare Weight, and Gross Weight fields for the single item unit and have these values automatically update for the item’s base unit of measure when the required setup is configured.

To configure the weight related information for items, follow these steps:

1. Select the Search icon , enter Items, and then choose the related link.
   The Items list page opens.

2. Select the required No. to open the relevant Item Card page.
   The Item Card page opens.

3. On the Inventory FastTab, enter the required information in the following fields:

   Field	Description
   Net Weight	Enter the net weight of a single item unit for the selected base unit of measure. If no line exists for the unit of measure configured in the Standard Weight Unit of Measure field on the Standard Measurements Setup page, the system automatically creates a line for it on the Item Units of Measure page and notifies you upon updating the value in the Net Weight field.
   Tare Weight	Enter the tare weight of a single item unit for the selected base unit of measure. The tare weight refers to the weight of the packaging or container, excluding the item itself.
   Gross Weight	Enter the gross weight of a single item unit for the selected base unit of measure. This value is automatically calculated by adding the Net Weight and Tare Weight field values when the Automatic Gross Weight toggle on the Standard Measurements Setup page is turned on.

The values in the Net Weight, Tare Weight, and Gross Weight fields are automatically updated to the corresponding field values for the item’s base unit of measure on the Item Units of Measure page, even if modified. This works when the Update Item UOM with Item Change toggle on the Standard Measurements Setup page is turned on.
