To partial pick/move items from a license plate

Article07/10/20242 min read

Each license plate can only be associated with one location/bin combination at any given time. When utilizing a portion of a license plate in inventory movement or warehouse picking, it is necessary to split the quantity and assign it to a new license plate.

Before posting the warehouse document, the required quantities are removed from the original license plate and moved to the new (pick) license plate using an item reclassification journal. The pick license plate number is temporarily stored in the Pick License Plate Bin Code field, assigned on the Location Card page.

The shipping container code for this pick license plate number is inherited from the Default Shipping Container Pick LP field on the License Plating Setup page.

Once the item(s), lot(s), and their quantities have been successfully transferred to the pick license plate number, the pick license plate number replaces the old license plate in both take and place warehouse document lines. This ensures proper handling of the pick license plate during warehouse picking or inventory movement.

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Warehouse Picks, and then choose the related link.
The Warehouse Picks list page opens.
  2. Select the preferred No.
    The Warehouse Picks page opens.
  3. Fill in two lines with identical values for the Item No., License Plate No., Lot No. fields, and distinct Bin Code field values to transfer the item between two bin codes.
  4. On the action bar of the Lines FastTab, select Function > Assign Pick License Plate No. to enter a New License Plate No. in the lines.
The Pick License Plate No. is created based on the number series assigned in the Pick License Plate Nos. field from the License Plating Setup page. It’s also possible to manually fill in a (new) pick license plate number. It’s only necessary to assign a pick license plate number to lines with action type Take.
  5. On the action bar, select Home > Register Pick.
Note

You cannot move or pick a part of a license plate without assigning a new license plate number.
