Print new license plate numbers

When new license plate numbers are required in advance, it is possible to print the new numbers in Business Central without directly assigning them to an existing or new inventory. These license plate numbers created can then, for example, be handled (logistically) by a third-party application.

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Print New License Plate Labels, and then choose the related link. The Print New License Plate Labels page opens.

  2. Enter the required information in the following fields:

    FieldDescription
    Label Number TypeSelect the type of label number. The available options are:
    License Plate Nos.: The label is generated based on the License Plate Nos. field value selected on the License Plating Setup page.
    Pick License Plate Nos.: The label is generated based on the Pick License Plate Nos. field value selected on the License Plating Setup page.
    User-Defined No. Series: The system uses the selected No. Series field value to generate label numbers when printing. The No. Series field becomes visible and mandatory.
    No. SeriesSelect the number series to include in label printing.
    Number of LabelsEnter how many new license plate labels should be printed. Each label contains a new license plate number generated via the number series set up on the License Plating Setup page.

  3. Select Print.

For new license plate numbers, an RDLC report is generated, displaying the license plate label(s) with both barcode and readable license plate numbers. These numbers are generated according to the assigned number series in the License Plate Nos. field on the License Plating Setup page. Notably, printed license plate numbers do not trigger the creation of license plate cards.
