Consider a lot number has an inspection status, an error is given when that lot number is used for a transaction that has been blocked for that inspection status. See Inspection Status List for more information. The error messages below are shown for the inspection status sales pick, sales availability, production consumption pick, and production consumption availability, but it works in the same way for the other inspection statuses.

An error follows if a lot is selected that has an inspection status which is blocked for a sales pick in an inventory pick, a warehouse pick or in a warehouse shipment. The warehouse pick can’t be registered if such a lot is assigned. The sales order (where the used location is set up as direct posting), the sales invoice (where the invoice lines are created directly, not via the “Get Shipment lines”function), warehouse shipment, inventory pick and the item journal with entry type sales can’t be posted if such a lot is assigned.

Blocked status exceptions

An olive colored inspection status code indicates that the lot number is available for the customer and no error message will be shown when the lot number is selected. Inspection statuses that are set up with a blocked status exception for a specific customer (group) bypasses all the blockages for sales pick and/or sales availability as described in Inspection Status List. However, this only works when the customer and/or customer attribute is set up in the Blocked Status Exceptions page for an inspection status that is blocked for sales pick and/or sales availability.
