Totals section

The Account Sale page consists of various headlines, such as Sales, Costs, and more. These sections provide a high-level summary of the activities associated with a purchase order, considering sales, claims, and costs. This page is intended to be read from top to bottom, as some upper-level sections (e.g., Sales) elucidate the calculation of lower-level components (e.g., Commission). To enhance comprehension of what the system initially suggests and how it may be modified, subtotals are presented, offering a concise overview of this data. These subtotals are visible in the Description 2 field of the Account Sale page.

Subtotals in the Sales and Claims section

The Sales and Claims sections display information that requires a subtotal because, when combined, these two components represent the total net revenue generated by the purchase order. The total Net revenue to be reported to the vendor comprises the net revenue from sales transactions minus the net revenue from all claim transactions. While these components are of great interest to the purchasing agent for assessing the product quality supplied by the vendor, it is the net result of both that serves as input for lower-level headline sections and, ultimately, determines the purchase value of the purchase order.

FieldDescription
Total Net RevenueSpecifies the total net revenue as proposed by the settlement calculation, which is derived from the Proposed Net Revenue in the Account Sale Revenue line minus the Proposed Claim Value Net in the Account Sale Claim line.
Modified Net RevenueSpecifies the difference between the Proposed Net Revenue from the Account Sale Revenue line and the Account Sale Net Revenue from the Account Sale Revenue line.
Modified Net ClaimSpecifies the difference between the Proposed Claim Value Net from the Account Sale Claim line and the Account Sale Claim Value Net from the Account Sale Claim line.

Subtotals in the Cost (Deducted Revenue) section

When calculating and adjusting the Net Revenue in an account sale, the Net Net Revenue is updated. This value signifies the net revenue minus any costs incurred by the company during the sale of the vendor’s product. This serves as a critical performance metric for a purchasing agent, particularly because, in many companies, the commission is determined based on the net net revenue.

FieldDescription
Total Net Net RevenueSpecifies the total Net Net Revenue as to be reported back to the vendor. This value is determined by subtracting the following components:
  • Total Net Revenue
  • Modified Net Revenue
  • Modified Net Claim
  • The total of the Cost Amount Account Sale field from all account sale cost lines where the Deduction Method is set to Net Revenue.
