Excise Statement
Each company that deals with excise duty and has an excise customs license must declare the excise transaction for a certain period to the customs authority. All excise duty details per transaction are stored in the excise duty ledger entries. These entries are the basis for the periodic excise duty statements. To get insight on the excise transactions, it must be possible to define an excise statement to fit local/country specific regulations.
You can define multiple Excise Statement Templates:
- Select the Search icon
, enter Excise Statement Templates, and then choose the related link.
The Excise Statement Templates page opens. - On the action bar, go to Related > Template> Statement Names.
The Excise Statement Names page opens. - Enter the Name and Description.
- Select the Column Captions Code.
It is possible to define the headings for the fields Column 1 till 5 with the Column Captions Code. - Choose Edit Excise Statement.
The Excise Statement page opens. - You can define multiple lines under the Excise Statement and it will filter the data of the excise duty ledger entries and the G/L entries. These lines consist of the following fields:
- Row No: It is a reference to the line and can be used in calculations for lines with the type Row Totalling.
- Description: A description of the line.
- Type: It defines the type of the line and consists of the following options:
i. Account Totalling: Totalling of G/L accounts (default).
ii. Excise Duty Entry Totalling: Totalling of excise duty ledger entries.
iii. Row Totalling: Totalling of excise statement lines.
iv. Description: A description line. - Account Totalling: It is the reference to the G/L account.
- Excise Duty Direction: It consists of the following three options:
i. <Blank> No filter is set on Excise Duty Direction (default)
ii. Incoming
iii. Outgoing - Subject to Excise:
i. <Blank>: All Subject to Excise are valid(default)
ii. Yes: Only Subject to Excise = Yes
iii. No: Only Subject to Excise = No
iv. Yes+No: Only Subject to Excise = Yes andNo
v. Blank: Only Subject to Excise = <Blank> - Excise Duty Charge:
i. <Blank>: All Excise Duty Charges are valid (default)
ii. No: Excise Duty Charge is No
iii. To Pay: Excise Duty Charge is To Pay
iv. To Reclaim: Excise Duty Charge is To Reclaim
v. Reverse: Excise Duty Charge is Reverse - Domestic Trade:
i. <Blank>: No filter set on Domestic Trade (default)
ii. Yes: When it is a Domestic Trade
iii. No: When it is not a Domestic Trade - Customs Tax Trading Partner:
i. <Blank>: (default)
ii. Yes: When there is a Customs Tax Trading Partner assigned
iii. No: When there is no Customs Tax Trading Partner assigned - Excise Entry Type: The types of Excise Duty can be:
i. <Blank>: All entries (=default)
ii. Sales
iii. Purchase
iv. Positive Adjustment
v. Negative Adjustment
vi. Consumption
vii. Output
viii. Assembly Consumption
ix. Assembly Output - Tariff Group
When you delete a tariff group, the Excise Statement Line still exists with the deleted tariff group.- Tariff Component Code
- Tariff Code: When you select a Tariff Code in an Excise Statement Setup Line, the amounts/quantities are calculated based on the Excise Duty Ledger Entry Detail lines with that particular Tariff Code taken into account. When no Tariff Code is selected, these amounts/values are calculated based on the Excise Duty Ledger Entry.
- Column 1 till 5: In this field, a reference can be assigned to Excise Statement Setup Line. With this reference, it is possible to select the value out of the excise duty ledger entry that you need for reporting. These fields are:
i. Excise Amount
ii. Excise Amount to GL
iii. Rounding Amount
iv. Customs Quantity
v. Customs Quantity 100%
vi. Customs Volume
vii. G/L Amount
viii. Trade Excise Amount
When a value is provided in the Multiplier field on the Excise Statement Setup Lines page, the values in the Column fields are internally calculated based on the Multiplier values when selected.
- Row Totaling: It refers to the excise statement lines that are taken into account with the corresponding Row No in the calculation. You can only use it when the type is Row Totaling.
For example, you can set up the Row Totaling as below:
- 10 means all lines with Row No is 10 are summed up.
- 10|20 means all lines with Row No is 10 and 20 are summed up.
- 10..20 means all lines with Row No from 10 till 20are summed up- Calculate with: You can choose the options as Sign or Opposite Sign.
- Statement: You can choose whether the Statement Preview has to be shown.
- Print: You can choose whether the Statement Preview has to be printed.
- Print with: You can choose the options as Sign or Opposite Sign.
- New Page: You can choose whether the Statement Print has to be started on a new page.
- Grey Line: You can choose whether the Statement Print has to be shown as grey line.
- Bold Font: You can choose whether the Statement Print has to be shown as bold font.
- Choose Preview.
The Excise Statement Preview page opens.
When running the preview of the statement, you can enter the general filter on the following fields:- Include Status Filter: You can choose from the below options:
i. Open
ii. Closed
iii. Open and Closed (default when you select Excise Period). - Include Calculation Date Filter: You can choose from the below options:
i. Before and Within Period
ii. Within Period - Excise Period: If you select an Excise Period, then it automatically makes up the Date Filter and the Location.
- Date Filter: It is not changeable.
- Location: You can choose the Locations from the dropdown list. When you select the Excise Period, the Location field is auto-filled and becomes non-editable.
- Period Filter: You can choose the options:
i. Before and Within Period (default when you select Excise Period)
ii. Within Period - Show All Statement Lines: You can choose True or False.
- Rounding to Whole Numbers: You can choose True or False.
- Include Status Filter: You can choose from the below options:
