Create Document Weight Lines for Transfer Order Line for Receipt

Direct Location

In standard Business Central, when a Transfer Order is posted for Shipment,the system creates the item tracking lines on the Transfer Order based on what was shipped.

The Document Weight Lines for Receipt is created for the Transfer Order Lines with a Catch Weight item. It also updates the Weight Quantity expressed in the Catch Weight Unit of Measure on the Item Tracking Lines based on the Weight Quantity received.

On the Transfer Order page, on the Lines FastTab, you can view the following non-editable weight quantity flow fields:

On the Lines FastTab, on the action bar, select Line > Item Tracking Line. The item tracking lines for Receipt are created and updated based on the shipped weight quantity on the transfer order line. The corresponding document weight lines are also created and updated.

Warehouse Location

When posting the Transfer Order for Shipment from Warehouse Shipment, for every Transfer Shipment Lines the system creates Transfer Receipt Lines. For every transfer receipt line, the Item Tracking Lines and Document Weight Lines are created.

Now when you create a Warehouse Receipt for the Transfer Order,

  • The Item Tracking Lines and Document Weight Lines are created based on the shipped quantities.
  • The Weight Quantity to Receive (KG) field is updated with its respective value on the Warehouse Receipt Lines.
Note

You cannot post the partial receipt for the Catch Weight items.

Post Transfer Order Receipt for Direct Location

You can post Transfer Order Receipt for Direct Location like posting the Transfer Order fully for Shipment. After posting, the system updates the records and documents listed below:

  • Item Weight Ledger Entries
  • Posted Transfer Receipt
  • Posted Document Weight Lines.
Important

When the item is fully posted for Receipt, the system deletes the corresponding Transfer Order and Document Weight Lines for both shipment and receipt.

Post Warehouse Receipt Lines

When you post the Warehouse Receipt for Transfer Order of a Catch Weight item, the records of the Item Weight Ledger Entries on the Transfer Order and Posted Transfer Receipt are created. After posting, the system updates the records and documents listed below.

  • The Weight Quantity (KG) field is updated with its value on the Posted Transfer Receipt Lines and Posted Warehouse Receipt pages.
  • You can access the posted document weight lines by clicking on the value in the Weight Quantity (KG) field on the Posted Warehouse Receipt Lines.

Post Transfer Receipt with Direct Transfer

You can post the transfer receipt document partially with the Direct Transfer toggle turned on. Additionally, in the Direct Transfer Posting field on the Inventory Setup page, you must specify one of the options described in the following table.

The associated document weight lines and transfer receipts are deleted after posting the Transfer Receipt fully for a Catch Weight item with the Direct Transfer Posting set to Receipt and Shipment or Direct Transfer.
