Synchronize tables
You can synchronize the tables through the Table Synchronization Setup page. There are three ways to do this:
- By selecting the Synchronize action: If the selected table is large i.e., it has a lot of data, the time taken to complete the synchronization is more. During this time period, you can’t perform any other action.
- By selecting the Synchronize in background action: You can perform other actions while the synchronization is running, even when the table contains a lot of data.
- By selecting More Options > Actions > Add Synchronization Schedule Entry: This opens the job queue page. Create a job queue entry and the synchronization will run one-time or periodically, as set up.
When a fiscal year in Business Central is closed, some records can be deleted. In that case, the system does not delete the entries but resets those fields to blank. In the BI system, blank fields should not be allowed. This applies to the following tables:
- Items
- G/L Accounts
- Customers
- Vendors
- Fixed Assets
- Employees
So, when these tables are synchronized, they can’t be deleted to prevent data loss.
