Walkthrough: Processing receipts for License Plate tracked items

We ordered items from vendor 95820 Mortimor Brewery LPN and today we are receiving the order.

Check Setup

To check the License Plate Tracking setup of the vendor:

1. Select the Search icon , enter Vendors, and then choose the related link.
2. Select vendor 95820.
3. In the Advanced Warehouse Management FastTab, check the License Plate Tracking Code, empty.

In this case, no License Plate registration is mandatory for the vendor.

Vendor 95820 will deliver 8 pallets of item 1682 MORTIMOR ALE CASK 30L LPN and 16 Pallets item 1512 MORTIMOR LAGER CASE 12X50CL FIFO LPN.

Items 1682 MORTIMOR ALE CASK 30L LPN and 1512 MORTIMOR LAGER CASE 12X50CL FIFO LPN are License Plate Mandatory, for all processes.

To check the License Plate Tracking setup of this item:

4. Select the Search icon , enter Items, and then choose the related link.
5. Select item 1682.
6. In the Advanced Warehouse Management FastTab, check the License Plate Tracking Code, ALL.
7. Select the Search icon , enter License Plate Tracking Codes, and then choose the related link.
8. Check Type for Code ALL.
9. Select the Open Record action, in the Inbound Rules. This opens the License Plate Tracking Rules page.
10. Remove the filter on the Direction field. This will give you an overview of all the rules for ALL.
11. Repeat this for item 1512.

Purchase Order to Receipt

Create a new purchase order.

12. Select the Search icon , enter Purchase Orders, and then choose the related link.
13. On the Purchase Orders page, choose the New action.
14. In the Vendor Name field, enter the No. 95820 (Mortimor Brewery LPN).
15. In the Location Code field, enter SILVER.
16. Fill in lines:

17. Select the Release action.
18. Select the Create Whse. Receipt action. The Warehouse Receipt page opens.

When using License Plate Numbers on items, most of the vendors will supply these license plate numbers on the items they deliver. And we can use this information to enter the correct tracking information on the Warehouse Receipt.
In this case, the vendor did not supply us any labels, we only got the lot nos, expiration dates and the quantities.

19. Select the first line.
20. In the lines, choose the Item Tracking Lines action. The Item Tracking Lines page opens.
21. Fill in lines:

22. Select Close to close the page.
23. Select the second line.
24. In the lines, choose the Item Tracking Lines action. The Item Tracking Lines page opens.

26. Choose Close to close the page.

Because the vendor did not supply us any License Plate Numbers, we decided to create the license plate numbers ourselves, taken in account the lot no quantities and to print the labels, so we can apply the labels on the pallets.

27. Select the first line.
28. In the lines, choose the License Plate Tracking action.
The License Plate Tracking Entries page opens.
29. Select the first line.
30. Select the Open Plate Numbers action. The License Plate Reservation Entries page opens.
31. Select the Assign Plate Numbers action. The Assign License Plate Numbers page opens.
32. Select OK. License Plates are assigned to the Default Pallet Quantity of the item.
33. Select Close. The License Plate Tracking Entries page opens.
34. Select the second line. And repeat actions to assign the license plates.
35. Close the License Plate Tracking Entries page. The Warehouse Receipt page opens.
36. Select the second line.
37. In the lines, choose the License Plate Tracking action. Because only one Lot No., the License Plate Reservation Entries page opens.
38. Select the Assign Plate Numbers action. The Assign License Plate Numbers page opens.
39. Select OK. License Plates are assigned to the Default Pallet Quantity of the item.
40. Select Close.

We added Item and License Plate tracking, it should be nice to print labels to apply on the pallets.

First, we need to setup the communication between Advanced Warehouse Management and the webservice of your Label Software.

It is imperative that all wanted labels are prepared and ready to be

used by your label software.
The label software automation of your label software needs to be
installed and running to receive and process the JSON messages send out
from the Advanced Warehouse Management Connector.

41. Select the Search icon , enter Advanced Warehouse Mgmt. Connector Setup and then choose the related link.
42. Check the fields, the standard setup is pointing to the Label Software used at NORRIQ. Hover over a field to read a short description.
43. Change the necessary fields to your Label Software. Hover over a field to read a short description.

Secondly, we need to add printers to be used in your Label Software.

44. Select the Search icon , enter Advanced Warehouse Mgmt. Connector Setup and then choose the related link.
45. Select the Printer Setup action. This opens the Label automation Printer Setup page.
46. Only Standard printers are installed in the Demo Company.
47. If you want to add printers, on the Label automation Printer Setup page, choose the New action.
48. Enter a Printer Name and a Description in the lines for each Printer. Be aware the Printer Name is the correct Printer Name used in your label printing software.
49. Repeat this for all the printers you want to add.

To setup labels to be printed in label printing software.

Thirdly, we need to setup the Label File Names and Integration Name to be used in your Label Software.

50. Select the Search icon , enter Advanced Warehouse Mgmt. Connector Setup and then choose the related link.
51. Select the Labels Setup action. This opens the Label automation Label Setup page.
52. Select the Code WHSERECEIPT. This opens the Label automation Label Setup card.
53. Change the Label File Name to the correct label file name in your label software.
54. Change the Integration Name to the correct Integration Name in your label software.
55. Change the Copies to the copies you want to print.
56. Change the Printer Name to one of the printers used in your Label Software.

And at last, check the events to print labels from Business Central.

57. Select the Search icon , enter Advanced Warehouse Mgmt. Connector Setup and then choose the related link.
58. Select the Print Events action. This opens the Label automation Print Events page.
59. Check the line with Label Code WHSERECEIPT.

To print labels

60. Select the Search icon , enter Warehouse Receipts, and then choose the related link.
61. Select the correct Warehouse Receipt. This opens the Warehouse Receipt Card.
62. Select the lines you want to send to the label automation.
63. In the lines, choose the Send to Label automation action.
64. Change the options as desired.
65. Select OK. The labels are printed.

To check the label print log

66. Select the Search icon , enter Label automation Print Log Entries, and then choose the related link.
67. Hover over a field to read a short description.

Apply the labels to the pallets and post the receipt.

68. Select the Search icon , enter Warehouse Receipts, and then choose the related link.
69. On the Warehouse Receipts page, select the No. The Warehouse Receipt opens.
70. Select the Post Receipt action.

The Receipt is posted, number of put-away activities created: 1.

71. Select the Search icon , enter Warehouse Put-away, and then choose the related link.
72. Select the No. you want to process. This opens the Warehouse Put-away page.
73. Check the License Plate No. fields.
74. Change the Bin Code in the take lines to the bins where you putted the items.
75. Select the Register Put-away action.

Check Warehouse Entries and Detailed Warehouse Entries.
