Walkthrough: Cancel picked items

Article04/10/20246 min read

Not for the first, and surely not for the last time in a warehouse, we need to take a pallet or items from a shipment, just before we post the shipment.

Due to Item and License Plate tracking, items have reservations on the source documents, which will be blocking on other, later, warehouse processes, if we ignore those.

Business Central Standard Flow

In Business Central it is possible to delete a warehouse shipment. If we do so after registering picks for this shipment, we get a warning: The items have been picked. If you delete the warehouse shipment, then the items will remain in the shipping area until you put them away. Related item tracking information that is defined during the pick will be deleted. Are you sure that you want to delete the warehouse shipment? When having picked tracked items, the best answer is no.

How do we avoid users to accidentally delete a warehouse shipment?

1. Select the Search icon , enter Logisitics Statuses, and then choose the related link.
2. Check the Block Warehouse Shipment Deletion field, enabled on all License Plate Statuses you want to protect the warehouse shipment from being deleted.
