Walkthrough: Avoid accidental Warehouse Shipment Deletions

People make mistakes, it is our nature. Mistakes are accidentally. One of the nasty mistakes to make in Business Central is to delete a Warehouse shipment, despite the warning, not to do so. Certainly, when Item and License Plate reservations are created when picking.

Solving the issues in order to get the correct quantities to be shipped, and the correct non-reserved quantities are available be picked from the warehouse, can give you several hours of extra work.

To avoid this, we recommend the following settings to be taken in consideration:

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Logistics Statuses, and then choose the related link.
  2. On the Logistics Statuses page, filter the Type to License Plate.
  3. Check the field Block Warehouse Shipment Deletion. Hover over the field to read a short description.
Note

Do not enable this field on Logistic Statuses, for items already which have the Allowed on Post Shipment field enabled. This would prevent you from fully post the warehouse shipment, as it would be automatically deleted.
