Register indirect sales

If you do business with for instance resellers of your products, you might want to know, and register, the volumes that these direct customers sold to their (indirect) customers. Aptean Beverage Advanced Sales Management supports the process from request until registered indirect sales entries with the possibility to give bonuses for these sales in the Aptean Beverage Sales-Purchase Conditions.

Setting up direct customers for indirect sales

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Customers, and then choose the related link.
  2. Select, or create as new, the customer you want to use as a customer with indirect sales and choose the Edit action.
  3. On the Indirect Sales section of the Advanced Sales Management FastTab, select the Customer Relations field, choose Direct in the Customer Type field and select a contact in the Indirect Sales Contact field if applicable.

Setting up indirect customers for indirect sales

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Customers, and then choose the related link.
  2. Select, or create as new, the customer you want to use as a customer with indirect sales and choose the Edit action.
  3. On the Indirect Sales section of the Advanced Sales Management FastTab, choose Indirect in the Customer Type field and select the direct customer in the Delivered-by Customer No. field.

Setting up the customer relations

When both the Direct Customer and the Indirect Customer are setup, you can define the customer relations. These relations are about the products that the direct customer sells to the indirect customer and the requisition of sales information.

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Customers, and then choose the related link.
  2. Select the direct customer where you want to maintain the relations for and choose the Edit action.
  3. On the Customer Card page, open the details in the No. of Indirect Customers field in the Indirect Sales section of the Advanced Sales Management FastTab.
  4. On the Customer Relations page, choose the Edit List action. Fill in the fields as necessary. Hover over a field to read a short description.

Register the indirect sales in the indirect sales journal

Once you have received the indirect sales volumes from you customer, you can register the in the Indirect Sales Journal. This journal uses journal templates and journal batches. When journal entries are posted, Indirect Sales Entries are created, that you can use for reporting. There is no posting to the general ledger.

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Indirect Journal Templates, and then choose the related link.
  2. On the Indirect Journal Templates page, choose the New action.
  3. Enter a name and a description for the template.
  4. Choose the Batches action.
  5. On the Indirect Journal Batches page, fill in fields as necessary. Hover over a field to read a short description.

Now you are ready to create entries in the Indirect Sales Journal.

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Indirect Sale Journal, and then choose the related link.
  2. Open the relevant general journal batch.
  3. On a new journal line, fill in the fields as necessary. Hover over a field to read a short description.
  4. Repeat step 8 for all the separate transactions that you want to post.
  5. Choose the Post action to record the transactions in the Indirect Sales Entries.

Bonuses and promotions on indirect sales

When the Aptean Beverage Advanced Sales Management is used in combination with the Aptean Beverage Sales-Purchase Conditions, you can make use of all the functions of that app to give (periodic) bonuses and promotion.
