Archived purchase documents

Dynamics 365 Business Central offers the possibility to archive Purchase orders, quotes, return orders, and blanket orders, for example if you want to save a copy of a document for reuse later. You can archive a purchase document several times, saving a different archived version each time. For archived documents where the original still exists and is not posted, you can use the Restore function to overwrite the original with the archived version of the document. This is practical if you need to restore the contents of a document to an earlier state.

Archive document

The Archive document function can be used on the following Purchase related document types:

  • Blanket Purchase order
  • Purchase quote
  • Purchase order
  • Purchase return order

When the function is used, the Applied Purchase Price and Discount that were linked to the original document, are copied to the archived version as well.

You can view the global lot attribute and the location code fields along the lines of the archived purchase documents (Blanket Purchase Order Archives, Purchase Quote Archives, Purchase Order Archives, and Purchase Order Archives) only if Aptean Advanced Attributes extension is installed and Attribute Driven Pricing toggle on the Purchase Price List page is turned on.
