Set up lot attributes

The Strict use of Lot Attribute Values setup option help to prevent differences between global lot attribute values registered in the document lines and the lot number created from the document lines. The global lot attribute values remain constant when the lot number is associated with a document line.

To set the use of lot attributes

1. Select the Search icon , enter Advanced Lot Attributes Setup and then choose the related link.
   The Advanced Lot Attributes Setup list page opens.

2. Turn on the Strict use of Lot Attribute Values toggle to specify that the lot attribute values for the linked lot number should match with the lot attribute values on the source document line.

   Note

   There must be no incoming order lines in order to enable the Strict use of Lot Attribute Values toggle; otherwise, an error message will appear.

3. If you turn off the Strict use of Lot Attribute Values toggle, a dialog box appears and displays the following message:
   “By deactivating the checkmark Strict Use of Lot Attribute Values, it is possible to register lot attribute values on lot numbers that are different from the lot attribute values on the source document line linked to the lot number. Also, it is possible to delete lot attributes and lot attribute values that are part of your historical transaction data. Are you sure you want to deactivate?”

4. Choose the Yes button to deactivate.

Rename or delete a lot attribute and their values

When the lot attribute and its values are defined, and the lot number is assigned for the document lines, you cannot change their names or delete them. If you try, you’ll get an error message. However, when the lot attribute and its values are not specified in the document lines and lot level, you can rename or delete them. Select the attribute’s name on the Lot Attributes page to rename or delete. To delete, click the context menu and then select delete. Likewise, you can also select an attribute’s name and edit its name.

Change Global Lot Attributes Value in the incoming documents line

With the Strict use of Lot Attribute values toggle set to ‘On’, the system will always update global lot attribute values that are changed on the document line to all lot numbers created in the item tracking line for that document line. This ensures that global lot attributes are not different across lot numbers.

The incoming document must adhere to the following criteria in order to automatically update the global lot attribute values on the lot level.

• The toggle for the Strict use of Lot Attribute values is turned on.
• The value of the Quantity Received field should not be zero.
• A warehouse receipt should not be present in the source document line.
