Production journal

Article06/28/20232 min read

When you access the combined journal directly from the released production order, the global lot attribute values are inherited from the component line to the consumption line and from the production (output) lines to the journal (output) lines, respectively.

Changing the global lot attribute values on the production journal line is not possible. However, you can change the values in the line before opening the production journal.

Output journal

The Global Lot Attribute values are inherited from the document line to the lot numbers. The non-global lot attribute values are inherited from the item template to the lot numbers while assigning the lot number to the output journal line.

After assigning a lot number via the Item Tracking Lines page of the production output order line, global and non-global lot attributes with their values are inherited from the created lot numbers. The lot attribute value information appears in the Lot Attributes FactBox (Ctrl + L).

Consumption journal

The global lot attribute values from the consumption journal line are synchronized with the Lot Attribute Requirements table. Whereas the non-global lot attribute values are synced to the Lot Attribute Requirements table from the item template.

The Lot Attribute Requirements table opens when you press Ctrl + L; the values in this table act as a filter for assigning lot numbers via the Item Tracking Lines. This ensures that users can only choose lot numbers that correspond to the requirements.

Post output/consumption from the production journal

While posting the output/consumption line, the lot attributes and their values are copied from the Lot Attributes/Lot Attribute Requirements table to the Item Lot Attribute Value on Output/Item Lot Attribute Value on Consumption, respectively.

You can view the lot attributes and their values for the lot numbers posted in the production order.

  • For the Output line – On the Released Prod. Order page, select Related > Order > Item Lot Attribute Value on Output.
  • For the Consumption line – On the Released Prod. Order page, select Related > Order > Item Lot Attribute Value on Consumption.
