Production BOM and BOM version documents line

Article06/28/20232 min read

When creating the production BOM and BOM version, the global lot attribute values are automatically filled in the document line while selecting the Item number. These values are synchronized with the Lot Attribute Requirements table and vice versa.

The non-global lot attribute values are synced to the Lot Attribute Requirements table from the item template.

In the Lot Attribute Requirements table, the following scenarios apply:

  • Lot attribute value cannot be changed if it is a fixed value.
  • Lot attribute value can be changed to any value when no value is set up for this attribute and item.
  • Lot attribute values can be changed to any of the allowed values that are set up for the attribute and item.

The following actions are possible:

  • Delete the lot attribute if it isn’t defined in the item template.
  • Delete the lot attribute value if it isn’t fixed.
  • Add the lot attribute if it isn’t already set up.
Note

The status of the document must be New, Under Development, or Closed when you modify the global lot attribute values on the production BOMs and BOM Version lines. Otherwise, you’ll get an error message.

Prevent merging from BOM lines in production order when the same item is used with different global lot attribute values

This extension prevents merging the document lines if there is an inconsistency between global lot attribute values registered in the document lines, even if the items are the same.

In Standard BC, if multiple production lines have the same item details (either in the BOM or in the Phantom BOM lines), they are combined, and the quantities are summarized when the BOM line is used to create component lines.

Note

The prevention of merging document lines only applies when there is an inconsistency between global lot attributes, not for non-global lot attributes.
