The standardized unit of measure (UOM) conversions allows you to convert the UOM used by your customers to your own UOM standard for processing. Later, you can convert the values back to the customer's preferred UOM before sending them back to the customer.
Prerequisites
Perform these basic steps to standardize the UOM conversions.
- Upload a Schema file in the EDI Port.
- Set up EDI Translations.
- On the Customer Card page, on the EDI FastTab, fill in the required fields.
- Open the required Item Card page.
- On the action bar, click Related > Item > Units of Measure.
The Item Units of Measure page opens. - Fill in the required fields.
- On the Item Card page, on the action bar, click Related > Item > Item References.
The Item Reference Entries page opens. - Fill in the required fields.
To convert the UOM Standards
- Select the Search icon
, enter EDI Ports, and then choose the related link.
The EDI Ports page opens. - Select an EDI port to import.
- On the action bar, click Actions > Other > Receive Single.
- Click Yes to confirm.
- On the EDI Ports page, select the AssistEdit button in the Code field and then click View.
The EDI Port page opens. - On the action bar, click Actions > Receive Single.
Click Yes to confirm. - Select the Search icon
, enter All EDI Messages, and then choose the related link.
The All EDI Messages page opens. - Select the Sales Order which is shown as the latest inbound entry.
- On the action bar, click Process to process the sales order.
- On the action bar, click Linked Documents.
The EDI Message Linkage page opens. - Select the Sales Header and click Show on the action bar.
The Sales Order page opens. - On the Lines FastTab, ensure the Quantity, Unit of Measure Code and Unit Price (EDI) fields are converted.
- On the action bar, click Actions > Process > Send Sales Acknowledgment to send the sales acknowledgment.
- On the All EDI Messages page, select the Sales Order Acknowledgment shown as the latest outbound entry.
The EDI Messages page opens which shows that the unit of measure and unit price is again converted back according to the schema file.
