EDI Log
To log automated EDI activities, select the Enable Logging field on the General FastTab of the EDI Setup page. The system will create log entries for activities that are processed automatically through Job Queues or via the Manually Run EDI Processes and Manually Run Job Queue periodic activities. Manual EDI processing from EDI messages and source documents within Business Central will not generate entries in the EDI log. Please note that enabling logging may impact performance, and it is recommended to activate this feature only in a testing environment for troubleshooting purposes.
To view a list of log entries, access the EDI Log page from the Search icon .
You can review the records on this page to perform any necessary troubleshooting procedures related to EDI activities.
View connection log
You can view the log connection details on the EDI Log page. The supported connection types include Azure Blob Storage and Aptean EDI One Web Service. This functionality is available only when the following conditions are met:
-
The Enable Connection Data Log toggle on the EDI Setup page is turned on.
-
The Blob Storage Connection Card or the Aptean EDI One Setup page is configured to establish the Azure Blob Storage or Web Service connection, respectively.
To view the connection data log, follow these steps:
-
Navigate to the EDI Log page.
You can view the connection log with details about each connection during EDI processing.
-
On the action bar, select View Connection Data to view the connection details stored for each log entry.
The EDI log records key events, such as file uploads and downloads, for inbound and outbound directions, including successful and failed status. For each event, it records a descriptive message and relevant connection data, such as filenames, container names, the number of documents processed, and, for web service connections, JSON request and response details. This enhanced logging ensures greater visibility and traceability in EDI processing, helping users monitor and troubleshoot connection activities efficiently.
