Set up trade plan rates for periodic costs

For trade plans with the Trade Plan Type field set to Periodic, you can set up trade plan rates as follows:

  1. Open the required Trade Plan Card page.

  2. On the action bar, select Rates.
    The Trade Plan Rates page opens.

  3. You can add trade plan rate lines and enter the required information in the following fields:

    Field Description
    Source Type Specifies the type of source to which the rate applies. The field value is set to Location by default and cannot be changed.
    Source No. Select the location number to which the rate applies.
    Item Type Select the type of item to which the rate applies. The available options are: All Items, Item, and Item Category.
    No. Select the item or item category number to which the rate applies.
    This field is not editable when the Item Type field value is set to All Items.
    Variant Code Select the variant of the item to which the rate applies.
    This field is available only when the Item Type field value is set to Item and the No. field value exists.
    Free Storage Period Enter a day value to define a free storage period for the rate. The system will only add costs after this time interval, calculated from the moment of receipt.
    Rate Type Select the type of rate. The available options are:
    • Amount per Unit
    • Amount per Net Weight
    • Amount per Gross Weight
    • Amount per Shipping Container
    Packaging Type Specifies the type of packaging, restricted to shipping containers. A shipping container (for example, a pallet) can contain multiple stacked shipping units, such as cases or crates.
    The system automatically updates this field value to Shipping Container when the Rate Type field value is set to Amount per Shipping Container.
    Packaging Code Select a shipping container code from the Packaging Types page. You must use the same packaging code for all trade plan rate lines, as only one shipping container can be defined per trade plan.
    This field value is editable only when the Rate Type field value is set to Amount per Shipping Container.
    Rate Application Method Select whether the system must calculate periodic costs based on actual or expected quantity for packaging items. The available options are:
    • Actual: The system uses the actual number of shipping containers received when calculating periodic costs. For each posted receipt line, the system calculates the received number of shipping containers based on the linked packaging lines.
    • Based: The system uses the expected number of shipping containers when calculating periodic costs. For each posted receipt line, the system stores the expected number of shipping containers, based on the default packaging setup of the item, when posting the receipt.
    This field is editable only when the Rate Type field value is set to Amount per Shipping Container.
    Rate Enter the rate amount.
    Periodic Rate Type Specifies the periodic calculation rate type as set up in the trade plan. This field value is set to Per Day be default.
    Unit of Measure Code Select the unit of measure for the item(s) to which the rate applies.
    You can select this field value for an item, when the Item Type field is set to Item.
    Starting Date Select the date from which the rate is applicable.
    Ending Date Select the date until which the rate is applicable.
    Trade Partner Select the trade partner to which the rate applies. You can only select one trade partner per location.

    • The Packaging Type, Packaging Code, and Rate Application Method fields, and the Amount per Shipping Container option in the Rate Type field are visible only when the Aptean Packaging extension is installed.
    • For packaging trade plan line rates:
      • When there are multiple receipts of the main item (due to partial posting), the system links the last item ledger entry related to the main item in the Item Ledger Entry No. field value.
      • If the main item is received in multiple shipments, due to partial posing, the system updates the Item Ledger Entry No. field value with the last item ledger entry posted for the main item.
    • When the Accrual Type field value is set to Standard Cost and the G/L Account No. and Balance Account No. field values are defined on the associated Trade Plan Card page, the system does not consider the trade partner selection.
  4. On the action bar, select Item Exclusions to add filters for item exclusions.
    The system updates item exclusion information on the Excluded Values section of the FactBox.
    The trade plan rate is set up.
