Manage automatic creation of released production orders

The system can create released production orders from a sales order, inventory pick, warehouse shipment, or warehouse pick for broken source items automatically, depending on the Manufacturing Policy field value on the Item Card page. For more information, see Set up broken items.

• If a partial inventory for the item exists, the system uses the available inventory of the item in the sales order and creates released production orders for the missing quantities for the broken source items.
• If the required inventory for the broken source items are not available, the system does not create a production order.
• If the lot for the available inventory is not defined on the sales order line level before releasing the sales order, you must manually define the lot for it as the system does not automatically assign a lot to the available inventory of the item.
• If the Aptean Inspection Status extension is installed, the system does not use the blocked lot numbers when assigning lots to the production orders automatically.
• If the Aptean License Plating extension is installed, the system updates the license plating information for the lot automatically.
