Manage SSCC lines for license plate-tracked items
You can assign only one SSCC number to one License Plate number of an item. This is done on the Create SSCC No. - SHIP××××××× page that’s opened using the Warehouse Shipment page or the Create SSCC No. page that’s opened using the Inventory Pick page.
The system creates an equal number of tracking lines as the number of License Plate numbers that you create for the same item or lot number. For example, if you create two License Plates, the system creates two tracking lines. The Create SSCC No. - SHIP××××××× page or the Create SSCC No. page shows the License Plate numbers for the item, thus indicating that this item’s License Plate number will be assigned to the SSCC number being created. You cannot put an item from a different License Plate together on the same SSCC number. Along with License Plate-tracked items, you can also add lot-tracked items to the SSCC number being created.
After you have created the SSCC number for a License Plate number, on the SSCC Lines page, you can add a new SSCC line to the same SSCC number. The new SSCC line’s fields will contain the same values as that of the line selected during the addition operation.
- Create a warehouse shipment for the required customer.
- Create a warehouse pick and register the warehouse pick.
- Open the required Warehouse Shipment page.
- On the action bar, select Shipment > Packaging to open the Packaging page.
- On the Order Bound Packaging FastTab:
- From the Packaging Code drop-down, select a packaging code.
- In the Quantity To Post field, enter the required number of units of the packaging item to be shipped.
- On the Warehouse Shipment page, on the Lines FastTab, on the action bar, select Manage > Create Single SSCC No. to open the Create SSCC No. - SHIP××××××× page.
- To create the SSCC number:
- For an item tracking line with a License Plate number, in the Qty. per SSCC field, enter the same value as that in the corresponding Qty. Assignable field.
If you enter any value other than what appears in the Qty. Assignable field, an error message “The value of Qty. per SSCC must be the same as Qty. Assignable for a License Plate No.” is displayed.
If you enter a value in the Qty. per SSCC field of an item tracking line that has a different License Plate number, an error message “Only one License Plate No. can be assigned to an SSCC number.” is displayed.
If your customer’s SSCC setup has the Require Shipping Unit Registration field set to GRAI, you cannot enter any value in the Qty. per SSCC field for item tracking lines with a License Plate number. You can enter values in this field for item tracking lines that have only lot numbers. If you enter a value in the Qty. per SSCC field, an error message “Cannot assign a quantity per SSCC to lines with license plate numbers while Customer ××××× requires GRAI.” is displayed. This error is again displayed if you try to enter a quantity in a newly added SSCC line as seen in step 8 (c) (iii). - Repeat step 7a for all item tracking lines that have the same License Plate number. For an item tracking line with only a lot number, you can enter a value in the Qty. per SSCC field that’s less than the value in the corresponding Qty. Assignable field.
If you try to close the page without assigning to the SSCC number any other item tracking line that is also stored on the same License Plate, an error message “There are more lines stored on the same License Plate No. ×××××××. Assign quantity per SSCC for all these lines to the SSCC number.” is displayed.
If your customer’s SSCC setup has the Composition field set to Homogeneous, you cannot enter any value in the Qty. per SSCC field for item tracking lines with the same License Plate numbers but different lot numbers. If you enter a value in the Qty. per SSCC field, an error message “Cannot create a mixed lots SSCC because the SSCC composition of Customer ××××× is set to ‘Homogeneous’.” is displayed. - Select the ellipsis in the Shipping Container field, and in the Packaging Types page, select the required packaging, and then select OK.
- On the Create SSCC No. - SHIP××××××× page, select OK.
The system creates the SSCC number. On the Warehouse Shipment page, the system enters the quantities’ sum in the Qty. Assigned SSCC field for the item tracking lines with License Plate number.
- For an item tracking line with a License Plate number, in the Qty. per SSCC field, enter the same value as that in the corresponding Qty. Assignable field.
- To view the SSCC number and add an SSCC line:
- On the Warehouse Shipment page, on the action bar, select Line > Show SSCC Lines to open the SSCC Lines page. This page shows all the SSCC lines and contains read-only fields. The field SSCC No. shows the created SSCC number.
- To delete an SSCC line:
- Select the required line.
- On the action bar, from the Actions drop-down, select Delete. If you receive a message “Do you want to delete the selected lines?” select Yes to delete the line.
- To add an SSCC line:
- Select the required line.
- On the action bar, from the Actions drop-down, select Add SSCC Line to open the Add SSCC Lines -
/ SHIP××××××× page. The new line has the same values in its fields as the selected line. - In the Qty. per SSCC field, enter the same value as that in the corresponding Qty. Assignable field.
If you enter any value other than what appears in the Qty. Assignable field, an error message “The value of Qty. per SSCC must be the same as Qty. Assignable for a License Plate No.” is displayed. - Select OK. The system adds the new SSCC line to the SSCC Lines page.
If you try to assign a new SSCC number to an item tracking line stored on a License Plate number that already has an SSCC number assigned to it, an error message “An SSCC line stored on License Plate No. ××××××× already exists on SHIP××××××× and is assigned to SSCC No. ××××××××××××××××.” is displayed.
- Post the warehouse shipment.
