Item Excise Data
For the excise purpose, it’s necessary to add specific excise data for an item. The required excise data for an item as well as the functionality to automatically check this data are described in the next topics.
For an Item, it is necessary to define specific beverage data.
You can view the Item Excise Data using the following steps:
-
Select the Item from the Items list page.

On the action bar, go to Related > Excise Duty > Excise Data.
The Item Excise Data page for the selected Item opens. -
Select the Variant from the dropdown menu in the Variant Code field.
When there are multiple variants for a single product, choose the variants from the Item Card or Item List. Generally, the variant is not required. Use the variant only when the data vary per variant. When no variant is selected, the setup is valid for all variants. -
Select the Tariff Type Code from the dropdown menu.
-
In the Customs Content field, the content valid for the Customs regulation per base unit of measure must be entered. The Customs Content is one of the parameters which can be used in the calculation formulas to calculate the Customs Quantity, Excise Amount and more.
When an Excise Item is a bottle of wine and has a content of 0.7 liter per bottle, and the bottle is the base unit, then 0.7 must be entered. If the base unit is a box existing out of 6 bottles, then 6 x 0.7 = 4.2 liters must be entered. -
In the Customs Content UoM field, you need to define the unit of measure of the Customs Content.
-
In the Substance Volume Parameters, it is possible to add definable values freely for an item. A maximum of five substance volume parameters are shown as defined earlier on the Excise Duty Setup. These parameters can be used in the calculation formulas to calculate the Customs Quantity, Excise Amount and more.
For an excise item, a substance volume can be the alcohol percentage and for a soft drink, it is the Sugar per 100ml in grams.
On the Excise Duty Setup page, it is possible to define 5 substance volume parameters with a caption, and unit of measure. You can make them editable as well.
You are not allowed to delete the Item Excise Data from an Excise item if the excise item has inventory.
